posting this question for my pop.
on his 99 silverado 1500 reg cab short box 4x4 4l60e with the autotrac trans case, sometimes the service 4x4 light comes on every so often while driving and usually goes out when you kill the ignition. but sometimes it will stay on for days at a time. there is 170,000 km on the truck...
is there some glitch or is there something that needs to be reset [like the oil change light]
it functions fine, but the light is kinda annoying [dash is like a christmas tree already with the abs and brake lights on -abs pump is fubar and fuse is removed]
already had to fix the front actuator [ground wire on it went toast, so i clipped it and added an external ground direct to the actuator. did that like 2 years ago. maybe that's the problem?
