Needless to say truck looks great. BUT this kit has cost me so much money, and so much time that i truely wish i had never bought it in the first place. I would roll around on 245s for the rest of my life before i ever bought anything from superlift again.

So you may be wondering what went wrong? well story goes something like this. Bought the kit brand new in box from Darrell Braun from Alabama. Kit was never installed, was going to go on his wifes truck but they sold it. picked it up for 750 shipped. What a deal eh? thats what i thought. Made sure to call superlift to make sure i had the correct kit with everything i needed. front kit and the rear kit for 750 shipped to my door what a deal. Needless to say Darrell was very helpful up until he cashed my check. more on that later.

Kit gets here, i look through it. No lift blocks or u bolts. I email Darrell, he said he would check to see if he forgot to ship them when he gets home from work. Three weeks later and a bunch of emails later still no word from Darrell, what a stand up guy.

Truck is schedualed to go to Mass Diesel in Walpole MA, for install on April 16th, monday. He coudlnt reschedual because he was booked full for a few months. So i told him to go ahead and get the rear kit, thinking Darrell would send me his, and i could just resell them for a small loss.

I call up Tuesday April 17th to see how it is going, and they said it is not going good. Superlift instructions were contradicting the updated version online, as well as the bill of materials. They call superlift, cannot get a educated response from their tech support. They finally figure out what is supposed to be done but its the end of the day tuesday and they tell me to call them on wenesday at 12 and they should be done.

I call wednesday at 12 to see how its going, and they tell me they had to help another customer first, before they could finish mine... i said fine, they told me to call them at 6 and it should be finished. sounds reasonable to me. I call back at 6 and got the worst news.

Torsion bar drop brackets are not for an HD. WTF? They call tech at superlift and get three, yes 3 completely differnt answers from three different tech guys. Finally, they say that i need to buy new torsion bar drop brackets for an HD. By this time, it is late in teh day and superlift is not shipping anymore. Also superlift would not give a price on these brackets unless they were actually ordered. What am i supposed to do? well order the brackets they cant be that much. wrong.

They call first thing thursday morning to order the correct brackets. 175 bucks a piece X2 + overnight shipping comes out to alot for two lousy brackets. At this point, i dont give a **** how much it costs, just finish it.

Friday rolls around, i call to see if the parts came, Superlift only sent 1 bracket. Yes 1. Shop cant do anything, also my truck is taking up valuable time on their lift, preventing them from working on their other trucks. other bracket gets there at 6pm at closing on friday. Another day backed up.

Saturday rolls around. Im told that they are thrashing to just get the truck done and that they have all the neccessary parts to finish. Great! I call back at 6 and it is finished. But alignment shop is closed so they have to wait till monday.

Well here we are monday. Troubles sure arnt over yet. I go down there, truck is aligned, looks great. What do i find out. I no longer have 4x4. yep, a big lifted truck with no 4x4. Why? from the pics below, you can see that where the front drive shaft would attatch is the exhaust cross over pipe. Now i said a big time WTF is going on with this piece. I call superlift. obviously not their problem. Sent them a picture, and they said they have never seen anything like that ever. Would not be able to help me. They told me to take the front kit back out and make sure it is properly installed. Are you insane? i asked them.

Sorry for the extremely long post, but i screwed myself trying to save a dollar and for the money i just spend, could have had King resi shocks all the way around and some nice deavers and a quality kit as some of you have. I would never buy superlift or suggest it to anyone. I understand that flukes happen, but this has been a total nightmare. Never had a lifted truck before, and will think twice next time.

On a side note, Mass Diesel, which is a vendor on here i believe, has been very helpful in trying to get this thing done. Scott, is an exceptional business man and wish all businesses were carried out with such profesionalism and care. I would not hesitate to do business with him again.

im done. gotta figure out a way to re route my exhuast............

PS cognito braces no longer fit. If anyone wants them 50 bucks +shipping for both the pitman and idler braces. had them on the truck for 3 months. More money wasted. they still work perfect.

Buyer beware of Darrell Braun of Alabama also. Screen name on Chevy Truck world is cumminspowered, on Dodge Truck World - cumminspowered, and Ford Truck World - strykertt

Sorry that happend....SUCKS :banghead:

Just to let you know that all HD gas trucks must have a Exhaust mod done to clear the drive line. I'm not sure why they couldn't just tell you that. Pretty standard.

Sorry to hear about all your troubles. Your truck looks great, I love the look of a reg cab long bed lifted. Another kit to watch out for is the Pro Comp kit. I installed one on a '99 z71 and it was the biggest pain in the world. It took me and a buddy a good 2 1/2 days to finish it. My Cognito went on in one day and when I installed it I had never installed a lift kit on a truck before. Needless to say, Cognito quality is top notch and everything goes together so simple.

braces are gone. thanks- hopefully i can come up with something for the exhaust this week. didnt know it was possibly to spend close to 3000 dollars and be so unhappy. I wasnt even planning on lifting, but saw that the kit was such a good deal. should have just installed the cognito leveling kit i had and left it at that.

Thanks for the info nick, the guy at superlift said he never even heard of that problem. Thanks again for the info.

Dude, your truck is awesome. It looks like it was built for off-roading, nothing extra, just the necesities.

That sucks. You're scarin' me. I hope my lift goes on smoother than yours. I will never buy superlift.
