Been bothered by the fact that my long runs back and forth to Fl. have been giving me 15MPG ish all summer. I think there are two stages to the cooling fan and the first one being undetectable kills fuel economy. Also, Ive noticed since the humidity dropped econ has gone up probably because the auto AC has an easier time.

I just hit 55,000 and I don't know what the heck happend but my 80MPH round trip from ATL to Richmond got me 19.3MPG. Could the Delvac be so good that only now is she breaking in?

12,600 miles in southern Louisiana, and believe me as a New York native, I know humidity....I get 350 miles to the tank city and 400 highway....95% of the time the a/c is on and rarely do I hear the fan engage...

I'm not talking about the jet engine style fan...I said that I think there is a partial/clutch on the fan that gets the fan spinning before the clutch lock up that you would hear (roar).
