The winter is finally over and it is in the high 70's here in Michigan's upper peninsula. Beautiful day. However, when I look at my 03 Duramax I wonder if by next winter there will still be problems with the new low sulfur fuel in cold weather. Lots of people had problems this year--especially in February when we had about 3 weeks straight of really cold winter weather. I ended up having my truck towed in. When I talked to the dealer he said that 15-17 trucks had gelled up or had problems that week--this is a small dealer in a very rural area. He talked about "bad fuel" and not enough winter additive. I did get the truck thawed out; added staynedene (sp?) and it works fine like always. But what about next winter? Oh...I had the hood on and plugged it in at night. If I know there will be problems like this next year, I would sell it and go back to a gasser--maybe. Will things be better next winter? Thanks, Paul.

No problems with it here in Alaska. Sounds like a local fuel issue.

No issue here in Wisconsin, I'll agree, sounds local. All my trucks run B5 year round, and soy gells faster than std Diesel.
Your dealer sounds clueless, it's not the uls fuel....

Thanks for the replies. Well, this is good news in a way. Now I won't have to consider selling my dear diesel powered beast. In fairness to the dealer who has overall been very good to work with so far, they did indicate that it was a local thing, or could be a local problem.
Also, I apparently posted this in the wrong place. Too late and too much of a hurry last night. Paul
