Hello,

I am curious how the trannsmission should behave after adding a small 50 HP download. Under deep throttle shifts are firm and quick however light throttle shifts are just plain silly. It is very hard to explain in words but I will try.

You go out a run hard a few time and then leave a light normal/softly and the shifts are not cool. The engine makes a noticable rattle at the very end of each shift and there is alot of delay and abruptness.

Is this normal? Is this specifically related to a downloader or more so a certain brand of downloader? Is my tranny getting cooked?

FYI with no programming installed all shifts are almost identical. Quiet and almost unoticable.Edited by: Bronco

Mine does that when I first add or change programs. It settles down after awhile. When you go back to stock for a trip to the dealer, you will find then that it shifts VERY firmly for a while until it 'unlearns.'

50 hp should not hurt the Ally at all. It will have to relearn after installing program. Seems like it has to relearn if you fart in the truck.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif. Problem is, the more hp you install the worse the relearn becomes unless you have updated the Ally.
