I hope this post is in the right place.
A was thinking of installing an Amsoil By-pass oil filter (BMK17) and running Amsoil synthetic oil for the purpose of extending mileage between oil changes. My wife and I are planning on becoming full-timers in our RV. So 75-80% of our driving will be towing.
I am trying to find out at what interval should the filters and/or oil be changed. I have searched the forum and have found a verity of answers. What would you recommend?

Ask your Amsoil dealer. He should offer you a free oil test after a year. Mine is coming up soon. GOOD LUCK

You need an oil analysis done to decide that.
Damn to slow, but I wouldn't go to a Amsoil dealer they could be a little bias.

Oh forgot to say this. Should put the blocker plate anf finger stick in first.(Can be puchased on KENNEDY on this site just do a serch.
That will cut down on soot into the oil a little.

Before you install the bypass, read this article. If you have good filtering, and no engine problems, the new Amsoil Ea and oil sampling might be all you need.

Thank you everyone for your replies. :)
Modified, thanks for the reference post, VERY informative. I think the EaO filters are the way to go. No need for modifications and longer drain intervals, kinda like having your cake and eating it too.
:thankyou2

A little late in responding, but very good points made. Unless you're planning on going huge miles or longer intervals than a year, the EaO full flows will do the trick.

With sever duty which you will be doing is 15K or once a year on the full flow and the bypass will go 40K or once a year.
On my own LLy I have 40K on the oil but I do oil analysis. !%K is no problem even towing all the time.
