If you don't mind a non-diesel question.

Changed my 4.3 S10's coolant yesterday. Reloaded it with Dex Cool. Since air is the killer of this product how do I know if I got all the air out of the system?? I understand the 4.3 is a problem with this coolant and I drained perfectly clean coolant out and would hate to have no started a problem.

There seems to be a "plug" on the engine just BELOW the spot that the hose from the radiator attaches. Is this a bleeder?? Looks like you would lose a lot of coolant if you opened it.

Unfortunatley I don't have a Service Manual for this truck, just a Haynes that says to refill the system. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Larry, just fill the coolant up, and drive it, recheck it after about 30 miles to be sure all is full and your fine. Dont remove any plugs or anything, there is no bleeder's on this engine.

Thanks

Just keep check on the tank or actually remove the cap and check it??

Why is there such a big deal about this engine getting air in it?? Operator error?? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
