: rhino linning
booneman 09-24-2004, 12:29 AM Has anyone put linex or rhino linning on the bottom layer of the two tone paint if so got pictures thinking of doing this but not sure truck still to new. My buddy did his entire toyota huntin truck looks tough. In my area there are at least 10 of theses trucks I want to make mine stand out a little. If you have any Ideas or pics please post.
Also do I need a lift to put on H2 take offs? I like the way they look.
Cummins0104 09-24-2004, 02:18 AM Hey i have the rhino lining on the bottom layer of my two tone and i love it...it keeps my body from getting scratched and rusting and it has a glossy look. I think it looks great and i get alot of compliments!!! Have at it!!!

Patriot_RAM 09-25-2004, 05:22 PM My scanner isn't hooked up, but I have the September issue of 4x4 Builder. On page 94, they show a picture of a GMC ZR5 that has the Line-x on the rocker panels and up around the top of the fenders. It's a cherry red truck and the black line-x. Looks really good IMO. The magazine shows the whole process of how it was applied.
My question is -- How long will it stay shiny black??
Patriot_RAM 09-25-2004, 05:27 PM By the way, the H2 wheels will fit on the '04 4x4 with no lift. The only mod is that you have to make the center hole slightly larger. I had a machinist do it on a lathe for about $150 and got the take-off wheels and 315/70/17 tires for $500.

Cummins0104 09-25-2004, 08:42 PM my rhino lining has stayed pretty glossy since i put it on....that was about 2.5 years ago maybe a little longer but it hasn't lost any shine....by the way are those bushwacker fender flares....they look good...how much were they???
booneman 09-25-2004, 11:25 PM That looks good http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif I' m sold gotta have it mine is light almond looks tan to me. Do you know if the have diffrent colors?
Patriot_RAM 09-26-2004, 12:11 AM Yup, Bushwacker pocket style. Seems like they were just over $400 at a shop in St. Paul as I was passing through. They only took about an hour to assemble and another hour to install on the truck. I love 'em.
Cummins0104 09-26-2004, 04:40 AM Well booneman...yes they do have that stuff in different colors...i don't know for sure if it will be glossy and i think its a different brand...i'd stick with black if i was u.....looks good with all colors....
Cummins0104 09-26-2004, 04:43 AM Dsteinke....do me a favor and look at the pictures of my truck and tell me if my truck would look good if i got the fender flares and a set of 35" ProComp AllTerrains.........any recommendations for a good on road off road tire???
Patriot_RAM 09-26-2004, 09:24 AM I think it would look good. What do the rest of you think? I've also run a couple of sets of the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's on previous trucks. They wore well for an offroad tire and didn't have as much road noise on my Chevy as I thought they would. Go to tirerack.com and look them up. Tirerack also has customer review ratings on their tires for various categories.
Cummins0104 09-26-2004, 03:22 PM ahhh....well then...will do!!! Thanx alot...if you ever have any other questions or wanna show me some pics or whatever let me know....im gonna take my truck mudding on the farm next weekend i think....i'll get some pics and put em up for yall......
vortecfcar 09-29-2004, 09:23 PM How much did it cost to have the linex put on if you dont mind me askin? I was qouted 300 and am curious if it would be better to just roll it on my self and pocket the rest or bite the bullet for 3 bills.
Lemme know what you think, Nick

Cummins0104 09-29-2004, 09:34 PM Well me and my uncle put this lining on ourselves so i couldn't tell u how much they will charge u but MAKE SURE you scrub your truck to death b4 you put that stuff on cuz after it hardens it won't stick to a dirty truck bed...so make sure you clean wherever you're gonna put the lining on....
