I am having an issue with the lower bracket mounting flush onto the axle plate.

Can someone post a pic of the lower bracket installed?

These are FireStone bags.

Thanks!

Mine are still in the box in the garage but going on tomorrow. I did have them on a few weeks ago until I realized I needed the air bag spacers since I have a 4" lift. IIRC, the bottom bracket doesn't mount flush to the axle plate ...doesn't the air bag bottom bracket have tabs on the corners that make contact/rest on the axle? At first I was baffled to but realized once you get the plate seated correctly with the tab between the leaf spring U-bolts the bracket sits on top of the axle making contact on the corners but doesn't necessary seat flush with axle plate. I'm going from memory so I may be off base ... will know tomorrow. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

On edit: Here are the spacers I bought ...also shows the bottom bracket and tabs I was referring to.

The air bag plate doesn't sit flush on the axle plate ... instead, the corners/tabs make contact with the axle ...then you have the U-shaped clamps that go around axle and fasten to top plate using the carriage bolts. I'll take some picts tomorrow. Easier to illustrate then describe.

Mike330R, I noticed you have a Honda 250/350R? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif If so we have something in common ... I just have a ESR310 Power Valve ...

tophog has it - that's how mine went on. Make sure that you have the lower plate oriented properly for your truck as well - as I'm sure you saw, there are two sets of holes, one for 2500, one for 3500.

If you're still having trouble later tonight, I can snap some pics and post them.

I have 11 inch of lift in the rear (10inch spring, 1 inch block) I just made a bracket to drop the top mounting plate. MY lower bracket doesn't resemble the firestone mounting one, I have the Air-Lift kit on mine. I will snap some pics anyways since I just put them on a couple weeks ago.

Mike330R, checked out Sandbros.com looks like we go to all the same places, and I go out ALL the time. I was out at gordons over labor day weekend and might be going again soon. Im sure i will run into you sometime and I am sure I will recognize your truck.

Mike,

If you run into a bind PM me I can drive my truck by and show you how they go on. Make sure that you have the top bracket on the right side....... I had to totally remove one when I suck mine on the wrong side</v:shape>. And no it is not flush with the axel the plate will sit tilted forward which got me when installing.

P.M if you need help I did mine a month ago and it is still fresh in my mind!

P.P.S If you are installing the hoses with out the pump it is much easer to remove the trim pin on the outside corner of the bumper and bolt the Schrader valve there rather then drilling the bumper.....

The other thing you can do if you like and is allowed in your state, you can run the hoses through the license plate so you do not have to bend down under your truck to raise it up... Just my 2 cents...

Or on the trailer electrical plug bracket, 1 on each side of the plug. :D

My 2 fillers are mounted directly under the left side tailgate, on the black vertical bumper strip, works perfect, accessible and more or less, invisible with the black caps on. No bending over and you fill from the back so you can see height changes.

good job, nice clean install by the looks of it. I bought some armor tubing for all my air lines. The lines run to the back bumper for inflation and lots of rocks and stuff fly around there. Aromor keeps them nice and safe from "mishaps"!!
