Thinking about a programmer or a exhaust system. Only reason is fuel mileage and a little more power when towing.

Should I expect descent gains with either or both additions? Right now I am averaging 15mpg in town, and 16-17 highway.

Just got a Weekened Warrior LE3305 fifth wheel TH, and when I brought it home I got 8mpg......

Is this typical, and should I be happy with that -----> or look into a exhaust and / or programmer??

Thanks for the input.

Congrats on the LE3305. 8-11 depending on where your going is about right pulling the 5er. I would do the exhaust that will help your EGT stay cool. As far as a tuner I don't have one yet and don't think I'm going to get one until the Allison gets built. Hopefully not for a long while. I have slipped it one time pulling the 5er so if I can do that stock than I know I would end up limping it with a tuner.

I would definately recommend an exhaust. I have seen over 1400 degrees egt with stock exhaust and stock power and I found it unsettling. As far as a tuner it's up to you, but if you ever drive with one on stock will feel underpowered.

Gauges and an exhaust. Maybe a Predator on 40 or 65.

Exhaust for the egt's and some gauges to watch it all.

Exhaust, gauges and Edge tuner.

My tuner is removed now, been off for a few months and I really notice the loss in fuel mileage. I used to go back and forth to work @ about 17 to 19 mpg per tank (gallons pumped divided by actual miles driven). Lately its been 16 to 18 mpg (empty). Can't wait for the dealer visits to be done, I want my tow tune back in!

I've been happy with my Hypertech programmer set on level III now for 22k miles. They're made especially for towing.

If you do a lot of heavy towing, probably the best upgrade would be the exhaust and then some guages. Imo, programmers are too hard on stock trannies especially when towing alot, even on lower settings. If you absolutely want a programmer, then you might want to check into a hypertech.

Sounds like exhaust and guages for sure..........see what it does and go from there. I have been doing a little searching on exhaust systems, and the MPRB seem popular and affordable. Any good sites for the guages and what prices should I expect for both?

Thanks everyone.

Pull a 5er also, and get an average of 12 pulling in CO. Opened up the intake and exhaust to let it breath, and am very happy with how my lly pulls and how the Allison grade braking takes care of the downhill.

I recently purchased the Hyperpac from Hypertech on my 04 LLY. I tow a 30' 5th wheel in Arizona on some pretty steep grades. I use stage 3 all the time and have stock exhaust pipes but removed the cat and put on a Flowmaster muffler. After removing the cat I have no issues with EGT's. Before I would have to settle with stage 1 or 2. I have gauges for EGT/Boost and the Hyperpac monitors everything else. (Hyperpac EGT module too much $$$$) Have fun!
