They dont hook for *&(*!!

We went to the track last night, I aired down to 30psi and still couldnt 60 foot faster than 1.899.

They just spun way too easilly...

maybe that's why I can spin them through to forth gear. hmmm, all along I thought it was the copilot.

Another note, they don't give out much sound when they spin either. Doesn't bode well for a satisfying burnout.

You don't need to do a burnout on street tires anyway. Just spin them over a couple of times to clean them. The main purpose of a burnout is to cause the rubber to get stickier (slicks) and to increase the temp. inside the tire. These two benefits of a burnout are useless on a street tire, especially an A/T tire! You say you are pullin' 1.8 60ft. times on a truck with no weight in the back with A/T tires!!! What are you complaining about???

I was talking burnouts in the sense that they don't scretch when I want to lay some rubber on the road, not necessarily to prep for a race. The Nitto's seem to spin easier than my BFG's or Toyo's do.

Ive done 1.78 60 foot times with different tires, so maybe its just the terra grapplers. The track was not well prepped either...oh well.

Yeah the Terra Grapplers seem to be really soft, they dont make any noise when the spin... :confuzeld:

Do you have a 4X4 ? Just wandering, no need to burnout! How was your time? I raced on BFG A/T's and they seem to grip decent, Nittos are going on soon.

yes my truck is 4wd. I always lower the torsion bars and run ~30psi in the tires at the track. I never do a burnout, I always drive around the water box...

It was probably just poor track prep...

If the tires are a soft compound, they should hook.

If a track is really greasy it won't matter what kind of A/T tire you have, its probably not going to hook real great.

maybe its the extra power your making that is spinning the tires more.first time to track with the new turbo isnt it?

Not the same tire, but many of my F body friends say the same for the Nitto Drag Radials. Really soft, but don't hook very well. They like just about any other brand better. They say the nittos wear out faster too. The one redeeming quality is that they are better in the rain. Maybe it is just the compound they use in their tires.
