Strictly a shot in the dark here, but --

Has anyone ever seen or heard of a modification to a late model gmc/chevy to have a roll down rear window? The whole window, so it works like the side windows.
Any fabricators every done anything like this?

Pretty sure it would fit in the body under the window.

Lots of work, but can it be done?

Ive seen it done on a reg cab old body S-10 on pimp my ride. Dude had a topper and it rolled down so that you could see a fish tank or something in the back of the truck. Surely it can be achieved in on of our trucks. would be labor intensive tho.

Roll down -- not sliding.

When I replaced my rear window in late '03, with the removable one that I have now. I asked around about a roll down one. Most of the installers that I talked to said they had installed them but they where not cheap, didn't always fit as they should and had lots of problems once they where installed. Most of them quit installing them because they had to may complaints after the install.

yes but the there like avalanches and have different set up

i dont think you would have the room behind your seat cause it requires a track system

If the Escalade is the same as it was back in the 2003 model then the rear window is actually removable and stores in the mid-gate. If it slid down you would not be able to drop the mid-gate and have the 8 ft bed.

well yeah you could remeber the old station wagon k-5 gates they dropped and the window retracted

but like those old k5s the gates were 4 or 5 inches thick and thats a lot of seat room wasted
