I've posted this before, but never got the answer I was looking for...

The '94 in my sig...I got swamped in a mudhole one day...the next day, on the way to work, and the tranny seemed to get stuck in 1st gear...all else seemed fine. I was almost to the house, so I drove the rest of the way home in 1st...I cleaned up the wiring harnesses, and it shifted through 1st, 2nd, and 3d alright, but no OD. On my way home, it got stuck in 1st again, and I pushed her as far as I could...she finally coasted to a stop a half a mile from the house. I towed her home, and again, cleaned up everything I could, and changed the fluid to no avail. She'll still move, but only in 1st, and there's a pretty bad shudder if I give her any fuel, then start to slip.

Trans. Pan inspection...the fluid level was about a half a quart low...and seemed to be pretty clean. It was bright red, and didn't smell burnt. There were no large metal shavings to be found. Some on the magnet, but nothing out of the ordinary...just some really fine dust that I have seen in any tranny I changed the fluid in.

The question I have...is this most likely something I can fix with a valvebody or have I most likely done too much damage already. What do you tranny guys think happened? Possible pump failure? Clutches gone?? TC gone?? The tranny was rebuilt about 60,000 miles ago...I think it's the original TC, with about 260,000 miles on it...

I'm deployed right now, but would like to know whether I need to find another tranny, or have my dad take it to the shop before I get home.

Thanks,
Jimmy
