Was pulling out of a rest area back on to the highway and saw two big rigs coming quick, so i was in level 5 already so I nailed it and it pulled hard for a minute and then it seemed to go into like a limp mode or something. It wouldnt go over 65mph. So I pulled over and put the scanner on it and came up with I think it was a P1032?? I cant remember, but it said manuf. cont. air fuel something of that sort????

What kind of scanner are you reading these codes with? I think it was you who mentioned that you were able to read and clear DTCs related to the EGR on another thread. Just curious.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Sounds like it went into engine limp mode where it wont go over 2,000rpms or like 65mph. I have had it happen a couple of times.

Me too. Next time it happens please write down the code. Last I talked to aaron, edge wasn't aware of what was causing it. He did say that it always happens on level 5 while running it pretty hard.

I've had it happen twice now.

ITS JUST AN ACTRON SCANNER. I WILL WRITE IT DOWN IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN.

Do you know what model number Actron that is? I've heard that some will read the vehicle specific codes and some won't. This is just out of cuiosity of course, I would never think of disabling the EGR and erasing the codes before going to the dealer.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif Thanks.

MJB,

I have seen this Actron CP9135 on sale this past weekend for $30.00 off at PEP Boys or Kragen, I can't remember.

Check with etoolcart.com they have various scanners at good prices too.

Good luck Allie

Bad news for you Actron guys. I bought one of the 9145's thinking it would work on my truck. It won't. Actron does not make any scanner that will interface with the CAN (Component Area Network) bus used on our trucks.

After monkeying around with the thing for a week I took it back after finding out it will only read generic OBD II codes used for emission checks.

Auto-Xray is the only reasonably priced scanner I've seen that will talk to the CAN bus with some manufacturer specific codes and definitions, but you have to buy the additional software package on top of about a $630.00 price tag...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gifEdited by: Zeeb

Hmm.... Max, this is starting to sound a lot like your last truck. Are you saving the Stage III money in addition to wedding plans, or is there another new rig lined up?...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

I just fininshed a 4,000 mile towing trip and I'm lucky I purchased an AutoTap before I left. I kept tripping P1093. It goes into limp (won't go over 2,000 RPM). Had to clear it with AutoTap to continue on. It started doing it with Juice on level 1 or 0. Finally pulled Juice off and no more codes. Anyone else tripping P1093?

The D-max does not use CAN to comunicate out on the DLC. The CAN buss is only used between computers. So any scanner that will work on GM OBD II should work with limited sucess. I've used OTC, Vetronix, Snapon, Tech II, Auto tap and a few others and as lond as you have the proper application software everything is fine.

AutoTap will clear the codes on LLY's, but it doesn't read much data other than trouble codes.

emerick115,

Do you still have a problem with tripping P1093? Have you called Edge? If so what did they say?

For what is worth I was tripping P1093. But only after I installed a certain stage 2 intake. I had the edge juice set at 5 with gettin on the pedal alot never popped up the code with the stock intake. Before and after I put the aftermarket intake on. If I recall correctly, please correct me if I am wrong, but limp mode is when the tranny starts to notice certain amount of slippage. I am not positive but from general motors code P10XX is fuel & air metering auxiliary emission controls. I am no tech. That's what I got from superchips website. They don't have the codes from P1001 - P1104. But they show the Manu. Code Sect. Although I have a question for you guys running MBRP cat-less. I have a 2004 LLY I have the banks exhaust. At first I put the straight pipe in to replace the cat. But, when I stopped with the truck in gear it made load growling noise. I put the cat back on and it stopped. I bought the MBRP also the with straight pipe. But, someone smashed the truck before I had a chance to switch out the exhaust. Wondering if anyone had the same problem? But, with the MBRP.

Thanks
