Just got my Van aaken 110/220 box installed and WOW!!! TOO MUCH POWER!!! If you are looking for some big power then this is it I think i stepped up too much,I think it will kill my tranny at any time!! I had a 37/70 chip but this is too big a jump for me!! Is any one running this set up?

I had one but it was a 150/200+. Dyno'd 476rwhp and 1013rwfp :D . I loved mine and wish I still had it,although EFI should be giving me over 500rwhp :D .

Van AAken told me the 70/110 is a good combo and is safe on the tranny! Hate to give up the power but have to make the tranny live! Does any one have this combo and will i be giving up a lot? Thanks for all the input!

Hate to tell ya, but it WILL smoke your tranny if not emmediately, give it some time. That is a ton of power for a stock tranny.

I am really surprised on the positive feedback regarding the power of the VanAAken. Many guys have stated that it is underpowered but those dyno numbers posted are impressive. I guess you learn something new on every thread.

Well all i can say is i am no stranger to horse power i have a 29 foot fountain offshore boat with a couple 502cubic inch blower motors in it at 1300 horse power and this 110/220 chip i installed will rip my tranny right out in a short time!! It is just too much for what i am looking to get out of a chip! Total performance is all this combo is good for!!! No towing or around town driving. Strip or pulls only!

With a lift pump and exhaust I feel I may have been able to break 500 with it. My buddy dyno'd 487rwhp with his 01' D-Max :D . Also a 6spd truck.
IMO they make great power and I love the switch so I can shut it off when I don't need it cause I really burned the fuel with it on 200+.

Mine was driven in town a lot but towing the EGT's really went up.

Thats cool they did the reprogramming for you. I have had nothing but good luck with my box so far, and as soon as I can get my tranny done right, im definately having my box reprogrammed to something like you had.

I bought a used Van Aaken module and Don reprogrammed mine for free as well. All I paid was shipping there and back. I also bought a new toggle switch for it and he knocked off some money on that as well. Good customer service!

If you leave it on the 110 setting your stock tranny should live. Just have to have enough self control to leave the 220 under lock and key.

Those guys at VA really do have great customer service! Hats off to them! I had an on going problem and they worked with me continually until it was ironed out! It ended up being a problem on my end anyway. Once again VA is really reat to deal with.:ro)
