I am new to the diesel community and a first time diesel owner and have a "newbie" question. I have a stock 2003 LB7 Duramax and am thinking about installing an intake system on it. There are a lot out there and I want to get the best bang for my buck if you know what I mean. I have heard that I should go with a dry filter so I do not chance messing up the mass ariflow sensor or anything else that can void the extended warranty. On all of my other gas burning vehicle I have always ran K&N and have increased power and mileage. Which one of the many out there should I choose? Which name brand will increase mileage as well as performance? Thanks in advance!

Dont expect any performance gain what so ever. Some see maybe 1 mpg increase and others see nothing.

our last dmax picked up 1mpg or so, but i would just modify the stock one to bring in more air and save some $$$ :grd:

If you've got some time, I believe fabing your own intake could work just as good as a boughten one. I have yet to try this, but there have been guys building there own. It would be up to you to choose your filter. (I don't know which filter is better.)

Tests performed showed the oem filter was very good...
