I just wanted to thank masterp2 for his shock and torsion bar adjustments. I had an OK ride from the front with torsions tightened to lift it 1 1/2 inches. I never thought about the shocks.
I started out shimming the top of the shock first with a piece of 3/8 inch black iron pipe and a washer. It made such a difference I could not believe it. The next day I added, along with longer bolts, a 1/2 inch steel plate cut and drilled to mount underneath the lower mount.
I got to drive my truck today while towing on the interstate where it is usually bouncy. I never thought that it would ride that good with the factory shocks. It should be even better when I upgrade the shocks. Right now they still have shock and rebound.
My 1999 GMC Ext. Cab Z71 didn't ride this good. Wish I had done this sooner. I would highly recommend doing it if you have raised your torsions.
