unknown i dont have an ohm tester but might have up to four bad glow plugs

My voltage guage on the dash pulses slightly. and when it dies i can get it going if i hold the pedal down but as soon as i let it go below 1000 RPM it dies yet if i keep it running for a couple minutes and manually turn the key off and start it as soon as the motor stops turning it will startno problem also when it dies if i remove any of the injector lines and roll it over there is plenty of fuel coming out of them. when it does start again it runs a little rougher and usually dies a little further down the road. lately the battery dumy light has been flickering off and on every once in a while. also a week ago i lost O/D and this week i lost 3rd gear both come back every once in a while i have a 4L80E trany.

A dead/dying alternator will cause your loss of some gears (intermittently) and can send weird signals through the ECM...take off the alternator and have it tested...

First three are Inj Pump, last two are transmission - may have connector or wiring problems.

I'd go thru the batteries, cables, wiring and connectors in the engine bay, make sure all has good power, grounds, and connection.

Yes check all your grounds and battery connections, clean them up and make sure there is no water in your fuel. This helped me out til the Optic sensor went south and replaced that, life has been good since.

i just went and had the altenator tested and the batteries tested every thing came out fine but the at the store was cool enough to trade my altenator in under warrenty put the new one in and have had no problems with the guages and my O/D and 3rd gear are both working much better (shifting even smoother then before) but this is just the first day. the voltage guage is reading 13/14 volts instead of 15/16 volt as well. as for the injector pump i still have the old one from last year would you recomend me putting it back on i changed it last year because a number of people told me that is what was wrong that didn't help though but when i put a used FSD module on that worked for a little while. now i have a new remote located FSD and it dosent stall any where near as often any stalling is bad news thoughi also need to have the timing set would the timing help with the situation although i have been told that it souldn't make it stall

Clear all of the codes on the ECM and drive around a bit with your new alternator....see what codes come back before you dive into the IP....

Out of curiosity.....what brand alternator did you buy? Hitachi...?

the altenator is a DNS2000 i've never herd of the company but it comes from a profesional parts store not just a random shop
