I went with this unit..built in FM modulator..sound quality is actually better than normal radio probably because I don't play myt music all that loud. Install was easy..the hardest part being finding a route for the antenna, I routed mine though the floor panel and up the B pillar and out the cargo light, and have it on the roof..the magnet is crazy strong. This XM thing is kinda neat. Alot cheaper than some alternatives I reckon. All you do is put your head unit to one of like ten presets that is not recieving traffic and the XM unit transmits on that freq..so no complicated wiring to the vehicle unless you wanna wire it directly to the inputs on the back of some aftermarket head units for better sound.

I put my antenna on the dash and it sticks right there.

XM rocks........

everybody seems to like the FM modulated way. I bought an xm commander
and an audio input adapter to hook it up to the stock headunit. I
probably wasted the 80 bucks on the adapter, but i like the idea of the
XM unit being connected directly to the stereo. I guess it makes me
feel better.

I can't wait until it all gets here, should be some time next week. The
way you guys talk about XM makes me wonder why i didn't get it sooner.

The longer i read this site, the more money i spend. This is not healthyhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

Got busted sunday...while "taking a break" listening to the nascar 2 Channel (in car radio). Very interesting just wish I could pick the drivers, I wanted to listen too (24).

Who knew that sh*t would cost $10,000.00 and 25 points???http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif

kevmo14, I went with the adaptor too. The modulator worked fine except all four frequencies on my Sirius unit have fairly strong stations in my area. The modulator would get overridden once in a while.
