I currently have an 2004.5 Silverado 3500 SRW D/A, according to the dealer, they only offered the painted steel rims, I would like to purchase the 2500HD Aluminum rims, i have looked at ebay and found several, but the only question i have is regarding tire size, the 2500's have 265 and my 3500 has 285 - should i keep the 285's and just mount them on the new rims.

Stock tire on a 2500hd is 245, stock tire on a SRW3500 is 265. A lot of folks run 265 (285 also) on the 6.5" aluminum wheels.
