Eric,

I ordered my truck without the redundant audio control option intentionally. The reason was that I was tempted to install an aftermarket stereo, and I didn't want controls that wouldn't work or a complicated installation. At the time I didn't know that the RAC was needed to control the DIC features like "instant MPG" and such. Now I really regret that decision because I want the DIC features.

My question is, do I still have the option of having RAC installed. And if so is it something I can do myself with a parts list? Would it be better if I had my dealer do it? Would it be expensive?

Thanks in advance for any input. I would really like to have this done, I just didn't know if it was possible. --SShttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

you should have ordered them.....

I know JPcustoms has an adapter to make steering wheel controls work with aftermarket radios for most applications. I am not sure what all would be involved to add it in and I can be sure that it would be expensive, heck, the steering wheel alone is prolly a couple hundred bucks.
