I am looking at buying a programmer for my 05 lly. I am wanting to know what the best programmer is for a stock tranny? I will be upgrading my tranny in the future just not right away as ther funds are tight enoough as it is. I want something i can have fun with and smoke my tires if i want. Thanks Chris

Predator, Superchips, Hypertech, or PPE all offer great performance packages with enough power to fry any stock tranny when driven hard.

If you want plug 'n play, I really like the Predator. You can run the two lower tunes on your stock tranny, and then put it on "kill" when your new tranny is ready for the power.
If you go with the bigger tunes available with a tuner like the PPE, you need to look at tranny mods plus a lift pump.

I'll second the predator for a stock tranny. Egt's are safe and plenty of tire shredding power. Don't ask me how I know.

I can only speak for the Predator... I had the 2.02 for about year until I upgraded the tranny and went with EFI Live... I never limped the tranny on the 65hp tune... Did I mention that I had about 150 passes at the drag strip? I loaded the 85 and the 100 in a couple of times, but they don't have much use for daily driving so I didn't have them in for long... I also towed a 7000 pound boat on the 65hp setting with no probs at all...

I love my Superchips, I've had it on the middle setting since 300 miles and I'm at 49,000 no issues what so ever...

Go with the Predator. Stay with the 2 lower tunes and when you do your upgrade you'll have the 2 higher ones to play with (pending you can wait it out since power is so addictive)

I too have the predator and like it alot. I run only the two lower tunes. The only downfall to the predator is high egts while towing heavy. I have a full 4" silverline exhaust-no cat and when towing around 12000 lbs have to be careful the egts don't get out of hand.
