I do a lot of light towing and hauling. By this I mean that I haul loads of about 1000 pounds, or tow trailers ranging from 1500 to 3500 pounds. Generally do not place my Alison Trans. in tow haul mode for this, as it tends to rev the motor higher than needed for those loads. My preformance is more than acceptable without the tow haul mode. If I am in a hilly area or find I need more than half throttle accelerate I normally switch to tow haul mode for those times then switch back out.

Am I doing any harms to the truck or fuel milage?

Thanks in advance for your opinion.

I'm not a tech but I can answer this one for ya! Nope!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif Tow/haul allows the Allison to work more effectively when towing, for example it keeps the tranny in a lower gear range and higher rpm's when accelerating, and engages grade braking when slowing down. With that light of a load you should be fine. Check out the towing/trailering forum for additional info. The lb7 is a beast!

Now when your truck grows up and you do some serious hauling use tow/haul religiously!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif JJ Enjoy!Edited by: JJs DuMax
