I still have not deleted my cat yet. I put a MBRP 4" catback on last summer......wasn't impressed with the sound......so ordered the muffler delete pipe. I am thinking about getting the cat delete pipe......but only if it will give me more sound. I have heard all the recommendations on the fingerstick and EGR blocking plate.....but I ran across the EGR False Code Eliminator from PPE last night. It's my understanding the the EGR blocker plate is still recommended??

I am just wondering if maybe I should delete the cat first.....and wait to see if I get a code and check engine light......then worry about tricking the ECM?? What do you guys think? Should I delete the cat and not worry about the the other stuff for now? Thank you.

What do you mean delete your cat? Can this be done legally? I put a 4" exhaust on my 06 3500 crew cab and since then when ever I am climbing any steep hills I get a check engine light that stays on for about 2-3 days. Can this be why? I want to know what a fingerstick is. What is a egr code eliminator? Plus my exhaust's noise never really changed, very minimal when you punch the throtle. I was thinking of going to turbo back. What do you think? Sounds like I am having the issues you have heard about.

I have the same exhaust on my truck. I have never had an SES light. Turbo back exhaust will delete the cat......the fingerstick and blocking plate trick the computer into thinking the cat is still there....more or less.

I am just debating on adding the front pipe and see if I get any codes.....before buying the other add-ons.

I have the Finger stick and it works great. If the PPE false code doey thing is anything like their Boost Controler then it is a very good product. It is also alot more money. (get what ya pay for) I think the PPE hooks up to the factory conectors so when you take it in to the dealer then you unhook it. The finger dohiky is hard wired but I soldered conectors so I don't have to tareup stuff to take it to the dealer.

I believe the PPE EGR false code blocker is hard wired in as well. It looks like the only difference between it and the fingerstick is the PPE has a little box included. It looks like it is still small enough to hide in the wire loom. The blocking plate is pretty much the same as the others. I just wondered if there was any difference and if it was worth the extra cash. I still think I am going to try installing the front pipe first.....and see if any codes appear. Maybe I will get lucky!

From all we've heard, you run about a 50/50 chance of throwing codes once the cat's gone - doesn't happen to everyone so I'd say go for it and see what happens!

Hey guys, I'm a newbie to this site as well as the diesel world (I've had my truck a week and a half)
and I gotta say this site is a little overwhelming (I'm having info overload)

I live in the Houston area and I'm a little unclear as to wether or not they're gonna start emmisions testing diesel trucks.

Am I going to be okay making some of the mods ya'll are doing?

cat delete, EGR, fingerstick (what???), etc.

I have a blocker package for sale in the market place that will take care of the codes if you get a cat delete. THe package includes the EGR blocker plate and the fingers stick. Let me know if anyone is interested.
