I have a buddy with a 02 Dodge Cummins, Auto, It leaks oil by the fan to the block. It only leaks when its running. he replaced the seal on the water pump but no luck, what could this be. How easy of a fix could this be? Thanks

Check the timing cover bolts. There are 3 right below the fan that would tend to come loose and would spray ALOT of oil when running.

Didnt these trucks have a small canastor to the left of the block that held any blow-by oil and are suppose to be dumped at every oil change so they dont overflow and spray on the engine???? Didnt work on to many of these but i do remember something to this nature.

The 01's+ did have the little reservoir bottle to catch oil, but it was a joke. They should have left it to blow the oil out on the ground like the older models.

I agree with that, when i first saw it i laughed my a** off. Some hammerhead engineer probably got a raise for that idea.

Try explaining to some rich guy that he has to have that bottle emptied to cut down on the amount of oil that leaks out. Had one guy that bought one brand new, had lots of money yet he was to cheap to have his oil changed at a reputable shop(jiffy lube was his choice). Then he would come back complaining under warranty about oil leaking down the front of the engine so he could get the bottle emptied.
