I know they dont have a chip yet but when they do come out with one I was just wondering how it would effect my waranty? And also for all of those who have the edge chip in there current duramax how big of a difference does the chip make performance and fuel milage wise.

It will void your warranty, No matter what year of truck or what motor you have. As for MPG gains, It all depends, Somewhere around 1-3 mpg for previous years...

This guy has has seen a decent power increase, mileage sucks(lead foot). I would say with all the emissions, i think EFI Live is the way to go. but i cant wait to C what PPE is offering...

Joe,

If you are smart about it, you will be fine on the warranty side. Remove it before you bring it in. It takes about five minutes to remove it. There are no marks or any traces of it in there. The only spot the dealer would see would be the probe. Just tell them you use a gauge when you tow. Stick to your guns & you will be fine.

I have seen about a 2 mpg gain with the juice. Keep it on level 2 with a boost of 5. You must not drag every light or your mileage gain will not be there. I also like the smoke so I would upgrage to the level 6 for $100 more. You can turn the day to night if you do it right. Just watch the 5/6 & 6/5 shifting & you will be fine. I can not go back to drive a stock truck anymore. I use level 3 with a boost of 3 to pass & drive harder. Then once I am 65 mph I might put in level 6 if some punk cut me off. Since you have a stock tranny try to keep in the 3 & below & a little smoke for a show.

Edge is a great company & they do stand behind there products. I have been very pleased with them.

Crashnburn.....what do you mean the probe and by telling them i use a gauge when i tow? Also do you see the 2 mpg gain when you are towing or just when your not towing.

If you need to bring in your truck to the dealer. You will have a temperature probe that is drilled & tapped into you manifold on the truck. You will leave that in & the wire attached to it. If a dealer questioned what that is or tells you he knows you have a programmer, admitt nothing & tell him you use the probe to connect your gauges too, when you are towing. You do not want the gauge in your truck all the time.

I have seen about a 2 mpg when I am unloaded. I can not wait to tow the fifthwheel this summer & see what I get. The juice is a great buy. I love it.

Actually, the one thing about the edge, is that it has the attitude controller and if you have it mounted, you have to take the mount off, with the PPE you jus take the tune out, PM dan@PPE if you are interested.

It takes a total of five minutes to remove the monitor & the juice from the truck, if needed. The mount just sit behind the dash & it just pops out really fast. There are no screws in your dash or anything to leave a mark. It is a nice setup. You can also buy a nice pod & that setup can be removed just as fast. If you use ppe use should have gauges to be save also. The edge with additude give you gauges & added safety to the trans & egt's. I will have to check on the prices. Edge switched over to a vip pricing plan so all vendors should be the same. Some vender offer free shipping. I think it is around $750, but I have not checked in a while. You can check the vendors here for their pricing.
