That all depends on who you talk to. One thing is for sure it will hold 520 all day and night just what the General gave ya.

ATF is not a bad thing, mixes well with most tin can beverages.

I know that it mixes well with some weekend work as well.. the fluid that is.

I agree, it will hold the now ~600 ft lbs that the 05's are claimed to make all day long.

520 lbs ft of torque is the stock torque max output from the Damx but I've added a BD-Power Intimidator power programmer and don't want to damage my tranny. I also added a BD-Power X-Monitor that has a pyrometer and boost guage. No way to take torque readings but just want to know if I lay into the throttle on the mildest setting of the Intimidator would it damge my tranny. Mildest setting that is also recommended for towing put's out and extra 55HP and 110 lbs ft of torque..............SWH...

For the Juice, people recommend no more than level 4 (90 HP) Not sure what the torque is at LV 4. Any more and expect an upgrade. So I have read.

IIRC, Edge claims to have run tests on the Ally with one of their dynos, they don't say which one. Seems like they claim it will hold 900 ft/lbs in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, but only 680 in 5th before slipping.

Gona have to check Edge's web site again...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

That of course would require some computations to come up with the flywheel numbers since I don't think they've actually run anything but chassis dyno tests. Since those computations require some assumptions about loss of power between the flywheel and rear wheels, who knows how accurate that might be.

It does seem to support why GM has restricted the power output on the LLY's to 520 in 1st and 5th tho...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif

Okay you transmission aces, am I on the right track here, or have I been into Mike L's ATF supply?...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

seems like if you're running a transmission right at the edge of slipping you're pushing it pretty hard and probably shortening the lifespan of it quicker than you would otherwise with the stock motor. Probably why the general restricts power in those gears mentioned above.

BD has been playing the game of using RwHp sometimes and FwHp other times. The stock Allison will handle about 150 Ft over stock when new. As the transmission ages that number will come down, how much all depends on how it's been treated. I would see about getting on a dyno to check your power output if your really worried about it.
