I would appreciate any advice you all could offer. Stopped by the local GMC dealership today and looked at getting into a new ’07 GMC Classic SLT 4x4 D/A. Locally sticker MSRP is $46,600 and was able to get them to $40,000 before tax and using my own financing. My trade in, which I bought new from the same dealer, is a ’05 GMC SLE 4x4 Gasser with 29K miles and the usual mods (that mean nothing at trade in). Their initial trade-in offer was $1,200 over KBB clean trade-in value ($22K) which was good to hear.
Bottom line is the longer I hold out on getting what I want the classics are going to start getting slim in the pickings. Do I make the plunge now or wait for the dealerships to be hard pressed to move off the classics and make room for the new body style. Currently this dealership has only received two of the new body style 2500HD’s which were sold with in a few days.
Also if GMAC was to reintroduce the 0% for 60mos. again how much of my discount would I lose. I guess what I am asking is when you get the 0% APR how much can you expect to get off the MSRP.
Thanks in advance for the advice and I look forward to getting out of the gasser club and into the D/A club.
