I am planning to build a sled pulling truck out of my 87 1-ton. I was wondering what all I would need to put the lb7 in it. I was thinking if I could get a motor with all the engine wiring and the ecm I could mak it work. I was planning on using the old SM465 4 speed because of the cheep built cluth prices. I've been told that it will bolt right up and that the engine has new motor mounts but there is a place for the old motor mounts still as well. Can you guys verify this? Iknow i will still need to get a fuel pedal with the wiring and a radiator/intercooler as well. I would love to see this thing get built but was wondering if I've forgotten anthing major money wise that would make this project not work thanks for any help and info.

find a wrecked truck that is somewhat intact. That or your gonna be piecing this thing togather and that takes time and causes headaches.

That would kick ass. I'd like to put one in one of our 1980 chevy 3 ton trucks instead of the crap 366 that it has.. but it would be a lot of work... Simpler to sell the truck and buy a new one maybe...
