I am new to this site and need some advice. My problem is a 2001 2500. Went to dealership AUG. 30 was told I need new injectors. The smoke started on a trip to Texas, by the time I got back truck had 200409 miles on it. I had not heard about the special policy extending the warrentY on the injectors until I started looking at this site. I have been in contact with GM since and got word today they can't do anything to help with the $4,900 repair bill. My gripe is 3 injectors were replaced at 100000 miles, I tried to get all 8 replaced at that time but was told no. Was also told the 3 injectors that were replaced are not covered under GM's lifetime warrenty. My question is what should I do now? I was told there is no way to appeal a GM customer service decision. Is that true? I have not had any work done yet, was waiting for GM decision. I don't want to put another $5000 in this truck as I have allready put in a tranfer case, water pump, and a rebuilt transmission on my own dime. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR INPUT.

If possible you should use your dealer where you purchased this vehicle originally. Hopefully you are in good standings and a repeat customer as they should go to bat and get GM to warranty the repair as you have barely crossed the mileage point.
Regardless call GM customer service and get the ball rolling.

I agree with Mackin. Heck, I've seen vehicles on the lot with 400+ miles on them. The warranty should be for 200,000 + whatever was on it before it was actually sold. But at 409 over, I'd become an hourly squeaky wheel with customer service until they agreed to fix it. Especially since you've already had them partially done once!

Perhaps you can pursue this route: Just because your odometer says you have 200,000 miles doesnot mean you really do. Have it checked. ex. If it is says you are going 70mph, but actually you are going only 69 mph, then it is a hair over 1% off. And then your odometer reading of 200k would only be 198k actual miles, so you would still be warranty covered!

good luck on that.. then if they find it off, your nailed for odo fraud or whatever. Wouldnt matter anyways, cause the odo is what they go off.....

Did you get a refund for the three injectors that were replaced at 100,000. If not then i would contact GM so have posted that were refunded for previous injector repairs. Might help with the current bill. I would still call GM on a daily basis.

JIMPRU: I'm guessing that he didn't have to pay for the first three, since he could have had however many he wanted done if it was his nickle. The flip side of that logic is, if he's paying this time perhaps not all 8 are needed. It's a tough spot to be in, and frankly I'll be surprised if any dealer in Colorado steps up to the plate even when it's so close. Certainly not a Fort Collins Dealer.
Tired: You might try calling some of the other dealers . . . tell them the symptoms and odometer and see what they say. I might be able to help you get it into another dealership with no more miles on it (I have a friend with a gooseneck flatbed trailer of adequate capacity). PM me with what brand (Chevy or GMC) truck you have and I'll give you what ideas I have for dealers to try. I don't know if it'll help, but it's worth a shot.
