I'm looking at this setup or are the heims too large?
4 7/8"-14 CrMo high strength rod ends
4 Tube adapters for rod-ends machined from 1020 DOM steel
Two 1.5"OD .250 wall tube 58" long
4 Jam nuts (two left hand and two right hand thread)
8 high-misalignment spacers 7/8 to 3/4
4 Safety Washers (used for single sheer rod end applications)
Diesel Power

my tubing is hair bigger at 1.75 DOM.. my heims are a bit smaller but its really the strength rating of them that matters.. trust me mine won't break. i don't think you'll need misalignment spacers for the heims..you can see pics of mine here..

Is it better to just bolt them onto the bottom of the u-bolts like alot have done or weld a bracket to the frame and bolt the bars to that?

we are on 8 posts now and nobody has answered the question abput the best available bars.
Custom DIY appears to be the bar of choice so far.
I ask because I to would like to find a decent all year round bar.
600lbs right above axle in the winter and mine jumps like a bunny.

You said it. Make them yourself. Some people weld some bolt. I did the weld method.:weld: I would let them hang down 4 or 5 inches from the rear axle. And I would use rec. tube.

What about Cognito? I was thinking of getting a set.
Which would be better for drag racing, 50 inch or 60 inch?

Diesel power those are some of the best traction bars I have seen.
Looking for the best and most feesable setup as well right now. I am considering the procomp traction bars as well or even fabtech looks like its makes a good set as well
What are your guys thoughts?
