Ive been using EFI for a few years now with no issues to date, until this morning.

I got a new laptop, installed EFI Live, and then went out to my truck to flash a new tune in. Upon starting the tuning tool I got this message:

Unrecognised PCM

This versione of the EFILive Tuning Tool has not been configured to display this PCM's operating system.

This may occur if...

I closed this pop-up and continued on. I tried to read the current PCM calibrations and got nothing.

I am currently running a tune that has a different OS than my own, it works great, the only thing that doesnt work is my fuel level reading is a bit off and my 4WD light wouldnt illuminate when I was in 4WD. So, I had the guy the wrote the tune, write the exact tune only with my OS. I tried to flash in the tune with my OS and the re-flash failed. Truck wouldn't start, not even turn over. I then tried to re-flash with the tune I had been running, the one without my OS. Re-flash failed, truck wouldnt start or turn over.

I thought I fried my PCM. I was :o: scared.

As a last resort I tried to re-flash and install my stock tune. It worked, truck started and ran fine.

What do I have to do in order to be able to run my high HP/Race DSP2 tune, the one with my OS?

FWIW...

stock OS = 15141668
stock cal ID = 15141667
EFILive cal definition file(*.cal)= 15141668.cal

dsp2tune OS = 04166801
dsp2tune cal ID = 15141667
EFILive cal definition file (*.cal)= 04166801

I have no idea whats going on. I get that "Un-recognised PCM" pop-up everytime I try to open the DSP2 file. Can anyone lend a much appreciated hand?
thanks
Jake

Sounds like the software has not installed correctly. If it says unrecognised PCM then it means the .cal files have not been copied over.

What software version and Firmware version are you using?

I just installed it straight from the CD. So, whatever version that it came with. Tripp, I bought it from you on 6/20/2006.

Ive been looking around on the EFI site. Should I dowload and install v7.3.3? I imagine the one I am runing now is 7.3.2. If I look in my EFI folder, (with Windows Explorer for instance) I see V732_416_540_467.

Im thinking I should also download and intall USB Drivers V3.

Am I correct? Think this will help, or solve my issue?
thanks
Jake
