Hey Folks,

My first post here---I bought a 2004 LLY 2500 HD 4x4 equipped crew cab w/Allison tranny back in early July. It's a base truck w/vinyl seats, floor, and even crank windows. I gotta tell you that saving $4K by not having cloth on the seats and carpeted floor is the way I'm going on every new truck I buy going forward...I've since replaced the stock radio w/ a Sirius and replaced the stock tires and wheels w/BFG 265 MTs on MT rims and it looks sweet. Last week I installed a Hypertech programmer and am running it at stage 2 w/stock exhaust and no pyro gage. Also, I didn't adjust the tire size on the Hypertech unit because I already know that 51 MPH is actually 55 w/the 265s.

Here's my question: Am I going to cook the transmission (or something else) running at stage 2? I may haul a trailer (5800 lbs) twice a year 50 round trip

Thanks in advance for your help.

You should be okay because the Hypertech doesn't put out the torque numbers that some of the other boxes are, and it's that high torque that kills the tranny.

Why do you say no more carpet or power anything?

The base model comes w/vinyl seats and floor.
