Ive been seeing some dissapointing numbers for the LLY in recent magazine articles comparing the big three diesel pick-ups in regards to 0-60, 1/4 mile etc. both empty and towing a trailer.

Does anyone have some real world experience up against a Ford or Dodge diesel? You guys who were at The Diesel Page Pull Off have anything to say? Seems like the numbers were a little closer for the stock trucks there.

So is it the turbo lag thats killing us with these magazine articles? Does someone have to go show these pencil pushers how to do a proper run or what.

The lag is a problem.....unless you build boost on the line and let er rip. Haven't been up against any 6.0's...made some 7.3's look silly though. When I get my tranny upgraded this weekend along with puttin on my tie rod sleeves I will be doing some hard launches....so I guess we will see. I had a rippin 03 cummins and I will not lie...the truck was stout. However it had a lot more than just a box on it....lots of hard parts were upgraded. I will say this though...I enjoy my lly more and more everday...once I can run level 5 on the juice without a worry I think things will get extremely fun real quick. Thats what I am hoping anyway. Do I regret the chevy.....heck no!...I luv this truck!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Rock On.gif

Editors are bias as well. Most of us here at the Place don't run stock. Who buys a Diesel for drag racing any way (oopps, did I say that). I have to take what they say with a grain of salt (some times a sack of salt). I've had and driven them all. I'll take my Dmax thank you.
