For over a year I have looked for a 2005 or 2006 C-3500, Diesel Allison, extended cab, single rear wheel, with 2 wheel drive. I have also been looking for a truck with all the bells and whistles and not a W/T version. I prefer the "06, because of the pre-"07 emissions and the 6 speed trans.
As my sig line states, I have a 2002 K3500, 8.1L, Alli, CC, DRW with 4x4. I would like to reduce some of the static weight that I have now, as my truck weigh in at almost 7500#. I also would like to get rid of the rolling resistance from the 4x4 and the dual rear wheels.
I am towing a 5th wheel trailer and do not need the capacity in the bed that the dually gives. If I was towing a truck camper, like I used to, the duals were perfect.
The GVW of the dually is 11,400# and the single rear wheel application is 9,900#. With my trailer, I will not be close to the GVW on a single rear wheel drive.
I don't need the crew cab as it is just the better-half and our dog. Needless to say, a standard cab won't work. The crew cab is actually to much. I also would like a better ride when I am not towing.
Didn't they make to many of these, or are these just so good that people don't get off of them? I think that I have searched every online source with no avail. There were a couple private owners, but they did not want to deal, thought they had something made of platnum or had modified the truck to no end.
