has anybody installed a ppe shim kit? how big of a pain in the butt is going to be? does it really help much?

I started geting 1093's back to back.........after installing the shim kit I haven't had another one !!!

Install was somewhat easy for me !!

You take the glow plug harness or whatever it is off !! But then there's this damn bracket that has to come off to get to the FPRV(at least on a 05 LLY)......the bolts are underneath the bracket and it's a PITA to get to the 2 bolts !! I tried every wrench I could come up with and it still took me an hour to get that bracket off !! After that.......piece of cake for me !! I heard it was a bear to get the FPRV out ..but I bought a brand new 6pt wrench and it came out with a little "bow up" ! But then after I got everything done........there was that damn bracket to deal with again !! As we speak it only has one bolt in it ....instead of 2 and if that one falls out I will wire tie it to something rather than fight with those bolts again !!

Just my .02$ !! Overall it's not that bad .......but obviously that brackit is a pain !
