I went up to Trail Ridge Road in Estes Park this weekend.

First, there are ALOT of idiots out there.

Second, while behind an idiot who could not decide on a speed (and it was below 35...the posted limit) I ran the Ally on my '02 CCLB Dually 3 hash marks above 200 (I am still trying to figure out what each hash mark equals.) I was never near the red, and my rig was empty, except for me, the wife, couple hundred lbs (less than 200) in the tool box. I then thought it would be a good idea to hit the tow/haul switch...down went the Tranny temp. All the way down to the 190 or so I usually run.

What a cool idea!

Just a story of 'It happened to me'.

The Torque converter is the heat producer at low speeds unlocked. You were with in Allison working specs do to the conditions you were in ,low speeds no air cooling.

Oh, I was not worried...just noting what happened to me, and how I corrected it. I just wanted to let a few of the other people here know that this is possible, and not to worry.
