The truck was given nitrous last Friday, and to my surprise it went no faster... The truck has run 8.7 (8th mile) with attitude and stock tune on the predator... Added nitrous to it and it ran 8.7.. I'm about tired of messing with the predator.. The spray nozzle is located just as the turbo pushes air, so it has to go through the intercooler before going on to the motor.. I just ran a "55" nitrous jet.. Going back tomorrow to have another stage installed at TS Performance..
You guys running nos what jet sizes are you running and where are your spray nozzles located.. Any help would be appreciated..

If it's not being overfueled to begin with; NO2 won't help much, I don't think.
Wait a minute it's N2O isn't it?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gifEdited by: a64pilot

If you are not making smoke down the full pass then you won't gain any power.
If you are overfueled and shoot a .55 jet you will definitely feel it provided you did not get hosed by whoever filled your bottle and that you have adequate pressure on it when you run.

You might be putting the fire out some. What BMDMAX said also. It will take some time testing and use up plenty of N2O. Back down the nozzle size untill you get some black smoke, then slowly step it up till it just cleans up (my practice). You will probably benifit from an extra bottle on hand as well (if possible) for continued testing. A pressure gage on it as well as a bottle heater are your friend. Keep us posted. And oh yea, run as much program as is possible. You want as much extra fuel as possible so the extra air gives you good gains. Edited by: Super Diesel

I have limited experience with NO2, and none with a diesel, however I would locate the nozzle(s) after the IC.
With the nozzle located after the IC you get the maximum temp drop from the IC based on the outside air temperature, plus the added cooling from the NO2 gas expansion.
Can anyone else add anything regarding the nozzle location??

I put a small spray on my truck with the stock programming and injectors only. It gained nicely. Start small and go up gradually...

Morse- Relocate your nozzle to post IC if you are doing one stage. TS Performance will hook you up with what you need.

yeah you put that shot post intercooler and you will see a difference for sure...

I just so happen to make a small manifold that replaces or goes into the blue intake boot just at the top of the engine right before it goes in. A few here are using them right now. It is aluminum tubing turned down to fit and has several port in it for pressure switches, N2O nozzles, and other ports on it for such things as Water/meth nozzles if you so desire. If any one is interested send me a PM with there E-mail and I'll shoot out some pics. I only make a few at a time.

I don't suppose you have them for the LLY?
Id like to see some pics either way. Thanks.

Thanks for the info.. Went to TS today and am rescheduled for install of another nozzle post intercooler.. Also having a bottle heater installed..
Due to lack of experience with the NOS, I'm going to share what my problem more than likeley was at the track.. I had my bottle installed on Friday... I raced a buddy of mine driving my Z06 on the parkway from 50 to 110 (and lost by a few cars).. I thought I could tell a nice difference.. No sudden jerks, just smooth power.. I then played several more times that evening trying different program stages... The bottle I have is only a ten pound... I went to the track Saturday evening.. 65 degrees and no bottle heater.. More than likely very little nitrous.. Ran an 8.76 where my best is 8.73... So there it is.. Low pressure and very little nitrous.. Oh well, I know it looks bad, though it's just a new toy to learn to use.. After tomorrow I should be in good shape..
Does anyone know where to get the best deal on nitrous bottles?? Fuel system? Thanks...
