My tranny is slow shifting into 6th gear. It will stay in 5th forever unless you accelerate then back off a little. also it has to be over 60mph. is this normal or something I need to have checked out??

good question. my LBZ does the same thing. it shifts into 6th at 58 mph.

It learn to shift for how you drive mine don't shift until ~55 IIRC and it won't shift under 50 I don't think.

Mine seams to go in to 6th easily but I can't say at what speed.

I think I have to be above 60mph or it will gear down to 5th.

It will shift into 6th when the output speed sensor sends the correct signal to the TCM and not before. This is normal as if it shifted into 6th at a slower speed you would lug the engine down.

Mine does the same thing if towing. I think it's working like it should...it's probably smarter than we are...:D
