Finally got 'er done. 2 10" l5's. Right now running off a single A8000T and a Blaupunkt Monterrey MP35. The amp is going to go under the seat when I get some better wiring. I gained a little room in the back seat compared to the stock console. Hope to get a class D 900 RMS amp soon. But I'm happy with it. :D

Actually that's the crap that was under the other console LOL. Right now I have no reverse, but as soon as I start driving it again, I'll clean it up. The outside needs to be washed too. So far I haven't been able to keep it drivable long enough to wash it. But, I had the MDF and the subs, and time, so I decided to get this done.

Why would you want the subs right there, and exposed???? :confuzeld

I think I have 4 reasons
1. They wouldn't fit under the back seat
2. I live in Montana, theft isn't as big of a deal as in other places
3. They look cool
4. I might be able to get my girlfriend to sit on one :D
Just wondering why you think it's a bad idea?

BTW none of that wiring is final. That's my "I can't wait another day" wiring. I plan on using all new speaker wire, so I didn't want to waste time making it look good when I'm just gonna tear it apart again. It'll be cleaned up within the next week.

i always thought subs or any other speaker for that matter need a certain amount of air (volume) in order to expand and contract correctly? I know my subs had a certain cubic inches of enclosure it needed to preform at the best quality. so if yours are pointed down your using your cab as the sub box? wont that throw things off?

It does not matter which way the sub is pointed as long as the phasing is correct. The enclosure is still being used, just the structure of the woofer is not taking up valuable airspace.

I saved airspace by inverting them. Sounds waves come off of both sides of the cone, so it doesn't matter which way you point them. BTW I'm at .65 cubic feet per chamber without the subs. kicker reccomends .66-1.0 cubic feet per sub, counting the displacement of the sub, so I think I'm pretty good. Might throw some of that fiberglass stuffing in there too if I want it deeper.
Stealth is the key...
uh, yeah. I don't get why all you old folks (30=old :p:) don't like seeing this stuff. I guess I'm the ricer generation. Oh well... :)
