I'm working out some problems with an IP that started as a fuel starvation symptom and grew into code for the Optical sensor and shaft errors.
In the "Remote Possibility" that the problem really lies with the wiring harness somewhere between the fuel filter and the ECM - its a long story, but it crapped out on me out in Wyoming about 4 years ago - Thank GOD about 2 miles from the Chevy Dealer in Jasper!!! Great Bunch on guys!!! (and a sharp mechanic too...) turned out it was a short in the wiring harness that was shorting out the ECM - blowing fuses.
Last year I started blowing ECM fuses again and the dealer in Torrance Calif. ( I travel a lot) told me it was the ECM for sure... replaced and ran fine until now
Now I have this IP and optic sensor issue - so in the back of my mine I am playing the "What If" game - If not being just plain logical and running things over and over.
To be honest I can't imagine how in blue blazes one would get that mess of a wiring harness unplugged, and pluged back in , much less get it out of the firewall where it looks like it is squeezed through a little hole too smal for the harness...
Has anyone ever run into this - I did a search for esm wiring harness by post and most of it was people looking for conversions.. except one guy who had a series of burnt wires all fused together and it set me to wondering... since I rest assured that a persistant glow plug CODE is related to something buggered up on the wiring harness.
Any takers on this one???
or if I get a junk yard harness - do i just run with it?
