: NO overdrive on Allison when cold, is this normal? Boombastic 09-19-2004, 05:21 PM I just took a test drive on an 01 duramax diesel with an allison transmission. The owner told me not to expect overdrive until the tranny warms up. the rpm was above 2000 for about 10 minutes down the highway,then as he said, it went into OD and the rpm went below 2000.
