Ok so I am just curious who has run both of these and what you can tell me you liked or disliked about each one... I have not closed the deal on the BD150 that I was going to buy so I still have my options open.... Anyone?

I have been told they both stack nice with HOT OJ so which one is the preferred in this case?Edited by: GMC2500HD

Funny you ask,

I just ran them both Saturday night. I had quad update my Quad 215 and I was impressed. This was an update that took the rough idle out and give the box some "street manners". The idle is nice now, but there is still slight surging between 35 and 47 mph while crusing. Not bad and nothing I can not live with. Quad told me the box should give me a little more power. It did. Times went from 8.55 at 80 mph with old tune to 8.38 at 82 mph with new tune. (Attitude was on 0, but giving timing)

As for the Bully Dog, this was supposed to be a BD 150 I was told. The one run I used it netted an 8.70 at 79.3 mph with a 1.97 60ft. I was having wheel hop problems here, and later got a 1.85 60ft with the Quad, so the BD 150 should do better.

I was impressed with the BD box. I have not run it on the street, but am told it's nice. Also bear in mind that all my runs were made with Attitude on 0 and I am getting timing from Attitude. Still the comparisons are there.

The Bully Dog 150 (Pup tuner) did make around 150HP when I last tested it. The older Quad was much stronger than it, but I haven't been on the dyno as of late.

I would be interested to see some dyno sheets from the same truck running each one... Anyone possibly have that?

There were some dyno sheets like that circulating last year, but I believe both boxes have been improved. The Bully Dog is strong for its advertised 150 hp, but its not as strong as the Quad 215. Bear in mind one might get a hold of a "special " box from a vendor with a little more hp. Maker may deny the box exists of course. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif

Thanks for the advice gmmcall. I think I will stick with brand name stuff. I don't like stuff that has been tampered with when it has a child proof label on the outside....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

The boxes I am talking about are from the Manufacturers we are talking about. They have just put a little more (hp)in the chip than advertised and do not market the chip is what I understand. I would think the Vendor could request the box from a Manufacturer, if they know them well. I get my info second hand of course.

THE BULLY DOG IS A LITTLE STRONG I DYNOED TWO DIFFERENT UNITS ON MY TRUCK BACK AT THE FIRST OF THE YEAR BOTH DID AROUND 176HP AND WERE WITHIN 5HP OF EACH OTHER

GREG THE ONE YOU RAN WITH WAS OFF THE SHELF I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE YOU DYNO WITH ME THE NEXT TIME I GO SHOULD BE SOON IF YOU WOULD NOT MIND I MAY NEED A TRANSMISSION TOUGHER THAN MINE TO HOLD THE STACK OF BULLYDOG 171 DYNO DOMINATOR WITH THE 150 TUNER
