I am designing a Sub box and Amp rack for the back of our Crew Cab and I was hoping someone could tell me if there is some sort of rear seating option to go with. Either two bucket seats or two of the small rear passenger seats?
I realize that there is carpeting on the inside of the stock seat and the bolt pattern where it bolts to the floor is different if you were to put one on the driver side, but other than that, what am I missing?
There are many Diesel Place trucks that run 10's or 12's behind or under the seat and I read that they POUND...but what are they being compared to? The stock stereo or a 140+ SPL stereo? What are some of the SPL's here, do we have any competitors?
Please don't take offence I really would like to know how to do this one right and I don't hang out with anyone anymore that lives STEREO!

There are several guys on here with extensive installs. Some didn't want to modify anything in the cab, other than placing a sub box in the cab. Some of us made extensive modifications, such as replacing the jump seat or moving foward or raising the rear seat to get the necessary air space. The defination of a "pounding system" varies from member to member, but for me it means something north of 130 db, cleanly. My system will do about 132 db, but it is only one 12 (pics in garage). There are a couple of system here that based on power and number of subs should do close to 140. The question would be what is you defination of a pounding system? How much space and $$$$ are you willing to give up? I've helped out a couple of folks here with box designs.

My friend hit 135dbs with 2 8s L5s ported without moving a thing other then the jack under the seat. I have a link to how I lifted my seat 2" for 4 8s I have never had my metered. The guys at ID put 4 12s behind the seat after moving it 11/2"-2" forward.

Thanks gentlemen, I've been really busy and out of town for a while.
I also believe a decent system plays clean above 130db.
I have removed the back seats, pulled up the carpet, cut the vents away, "de-tabbed" the back wall and sound deadened. I have purchased 2 Pioneer pancake 12's that need .75 average airspace each and made a box (1.64) that will fit behind the rear seat. I have never separated the speakers... is that the most efficient? Or just run two in the same airspace?
Are Memphis Audio amps a good choise?
Thanks again for the info, I don't feel that I am doing anything special but if someone wants some pics, I can take some along the way.

I've never played with the thin mount Pioneers, so I can't say which would work better, a single chamber or seperate chambers. If there is any doubt, use seperate chambers. The divider will not eat that much air space.
Memphis Audio is not bad stuff, better stuff is out there. But, it's your wallet.
Most importantly, :nopics: !.
