: Spare Anyone?
Texas Diesel Guy 09-19-2004, 02:31 PM OK, I mentioned this sometime ago and I apologize for the delay, but I have 8 used 2nd generation PMDs which I have tested. In the interest of fairness, I will send them to the first 8 people to post a request on this thread. All I ask is for shipping cost + $25. While I cannot put a warranty on these units per say, if yours fails like in a week or if it doesn't work at all I will test and send you another one. OK, so who's interested???
bowtie 09-19-2004, 02:40 PM am I in the 1st 8 ?
Let me know total cost shipping including
Texas Diesel Guy 09-19-2004, 02:57 PM Lee, I don't know what freight will be to Germany, but if your willing to pay for it, I'll send it.
bowtie 09-19-2004, 02:58 PM TDG
Correct me if I'm wrong, or someone else here will, The 2nd Gen ones are the perferred ones. Right ?
quantum mechanic 09-19-2004, 04:26 PM Sign me up. I will take one.
True Horsepower 09-19-2004, 04:59 PM Sent you a PM
Jill
TDG,
you could send to Germany or to a shipping address in the US from where I'd get it send --- I'll have to check out what would be cheaper. Anyway, even with freight and taxes on it, it would be much cheaper than buying a new PMD.
The problem I see is transfering the money to you. Making a bank transfer would be expensive; I have a credit card, but I've no idea if I could somehow use it in this case.
HamhockTX 09-19-2004, 08:01 PM Put me down for one, please.
PM on the way.
Doug
Texas Diesel Guy 09-19-2004, 08:17 PM OK, let me clarify a couple of questions I've been asked so far that I should have stated earlier. As I said these are 34264 2nd Gen PMD's that I have individually checked on a test bench and they all worked. They will all have #5 resistors installed, no mounting screws and no pad. As soon as I get 8 takers and their respective addresses, I will make one trip to ship them all out. I will PM the tracking number and total to each recipient. As far as payment, either PayPal to TPatton@abilenediesel.com or you can send a Money Order, either one is fine with me. So, here's who I've got down so far...
1. Lee
2. Bowtie
3. QM
4. True HP/Wheatking
5. HamhockTX
6. Outriggers
7. ????
8. ????
steiner43511 09-19-2004, 10:04 PM ill take one
If i'm not too late, I'll take one. dang, asleep at the wheel, i was an interested party at threads beginning . ..

quantum mechanic 09-20-2004, 09:30 AM bobt makes eight.
How does paypal work? Can I use it to make a payment?
bowtie 09-20-2004, 05:14 PM GO
www.paypal.com (http://www.paypal.com)
and follow instructions to set up account
It takes a couple of days tfor them to verify you bank info and I believe if you put down someone email address as a referrance they get 5.00 so you might want to pick your friend LOL
should be simple
Texas Diesel Guy 09-20-2004, 06:44 PM OK, here's who I got down,
Lee, Bowtie, QM, True HP/Wheatking, HamhockTX, Outriggers, Steiner43511, and BobT.
everybody but QM and Hamhock I need your address, if you already sent it, I apologize, please send it again, the sooner I get all 8 the sooner I can ship them, I only want to make one trip.
UPS Ground OK with everybody (except for Lee)?Edited by: Texas Diesel Guy
TDG, I'm going to set up a paypal account. I think it's easyest to send directly to me.
I'd send you a PM with my address, but it doesn't work --- seems that your username is too long.
It can eventually happen that you'll have to provide some kind of bill to accompany the package. They might refuse sending the package without a bill because the customs requires it. When I got the vac pump and the gauges, I had to pay German taxes on them --- but that package had been sent to my address at work, so sending to my private address can be different.
bowtie 09-22-2004, 01:58 PM I'd send you a PM with my address, but it doesn't work --- seems that your username is too long.
What browser are you using ? Netscape ? If so try explorer I heard someone else had same problem with PM using netscape.
Mozilla --- Netscape is more or less the same, just looks different. Maybe it'll work with lynx or konquerer, I'll have to try ...
w_huisman 09-23-2004, 08:43 AM I'LL TAKE ONE!!! w_huisman@yahoo.com
Oh SHoot! TOO LATE! TDG- I guess I'll keep watching used ones sell on Ebay for $150. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif Maybe sooner or later one will go for a reasonable price.
Hopefully I'll be a little quicker next time (and hopefully there is a next time).Edited by: w_huisman
TDG, please PM me your email address so that I can send my address to you. I'd send you a PM, but it doesn't work.
Texas Diesel Guy 09-25-2004, 02:27 PM Huisman, I'm still waiting to hear something back from Outrigger, if he doesn't send me his address, I'll put you on the list instead and I'll send him one with the next batch.
So if there's anyone else interested, please state so on this forum so I know how many to look for.
Bobt250 09-26-2004, 03:57 PM I'm definitely interested, especially since I'm having stalling problems.
Status check. Anything new? TDG, provide me a total cost and I'll pay paypal asap. Thanks!

w_huisman 10-01-2004, 01:27 PM Huisman, I'm still waiting to hear something back from Outrigger, if he doesn't send me his address, I'll put you on the list instead and I'll send him one with the next batch.
So if there's anyone else interested, please state so on this forum so I know how many to look for.
GREAT! So am I "in"? I'd LOVE to get in on this! I got PayPal (though I've only used it once on Ebay and I'm not horribly familiar with it), credit cards, cash, ... what ever you want! w_huisman@yahoo.comEdited by: w_huisman
outriggers 10-01-2004, 01:59 PM Tried to send you a PM reply but you have exceeded you quota on PM's.
Just let me know the total cost asn I'll send you a check.
Joe (outriggers)
Texas Diesel Guy 10-01-2004, 06:50 PM Lupey, Huisman send me your address tonight and your 'in'.
Bobt250 10-01-2004, 07:19 PM Hey TDG, I definitely need in on a next batch if there is one. I used my spare this week.

w_huisman 10-01-2004, 07:20 PM TDG:
I just wanted to say that this is awfully nice of you to be organizing this and helping all of us out!
Thank-you! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif
PS: You got email!
Texas Diesel Guy 10-01-2004, 07:27 PM Well I'm trying to get it all organized anyway, I know this is still taking me a little while to get done, thats why I insist that no one send me a payment until I can get them shipped and Tracking #'s / totals sent out to the recipients. I've been having the pull a lot of overtime lately, seem's that in addition the being the Lone Stanadyne guy at our shop, I've become the Re&Re guy too.
BobT250 I'll look for another one for you too, go ahead and send me your address too
steiner43511 10-01-2004, 09:48 PM well just let us know when you get it all sorted out. im in no hurry, knock on wood.
HowieE 10-02-2004, 09:28 AM Well here I am a day late and a dollar short, but if you found 8 you may some day come across a 9th. If so would you put me on the list?
tahoe2dr 10-09-2004, 12:57 AM TDG,
I am unable to PM you... probably because I use Mozilla.
Let me know what we can do here.
Any help would be fantastic.
I cannot begin to thank all of you guys enough.
Thank You.abadv8@charter.netEdited by: tahoe2dr
GregAbell 10-11-2004, 11:34 AM TDG,
If / when you get more PMDs, I would be interested in a couple of them.
Thanks,
Greg
g_abell@yahoo.com
Texas Diesel Guy 10-11-2004, 11:44 AM A couple? holy cow, one a piece is already a tall order.
GregAbell 10-11-2004, 12:05 PM I believe the PMD is going in by buddy's truck, and I'd like to keep a spare in my truck.
If you get more, shoot me an e-mail: g_abell@yahoo.com
Thanks,
Greg
Texas Diesel Guy 10-28-2004, 09:53 PM OK, once again I apologize for the delay, but I"m afraid I'm going to have to ask for everyone who still wants a PMD to pre-pay for them.
Wade Huisman already did so and his is on its way, so now that I know how much shipping will be I'm going to do this flat rate for everyone, $30 shipping included.
Once again, I'm offering a very limited warranty on these, if it doesn't work I'll gladly send you another or refund you whichever you prefer.
Thanks and again, I apologize for those of you waiting for one of these.
Texas...I could use one when the next batch comes in...my truck just started surging and stalling the other day...i wonder how long it'll last running like this?? Anyone??
sorry...my e-mail address....

steiner43511 10-30-2004, 02:22 PM ill mail you a check monday. how much postage does it take to get to canada? or did you guys figure out paypal?
TDG--I certainly appreciate your consideration for our (forum members) well being in this area. Thanks--there's not many who'd do this for people they've never met. Let me know when to send the check, and it'll be in the mail.
Again, THANKS
TDG--I just reviewed the thread again...your address isn't posted...could I get it??
jtaulbee@coastalnow.net
Texas Diesel Guy 10-31-2004, 10:40 AM Paypal is my first preference, send to TPatton@abilenediesel.com (TPatton@abilenediesel.com)

Yes, thats right, Ontario as in Canada, so just to clear up the comments that I'm sure will follow, I was born/raised in Abilene Texas, met/married a Canadian girl and we moved up here about a year ago.
Now, about those other 10 orders for PMDs, I found 3 more but have not tested them yet, but I have decided that in the interest of my warranty plan for the original 8 modules I need to keep these until all those persons are satisfied that theirs are working normally. Fair?
sounds fair to me Texas, just let me know when the next batch comes up
steiner43511 10-31-2004, 08:54 PM ok, im sendin it paypal.
alan46 11-01-2004, 05:05 AM Welcome to the Great White North and sure thats more than fair ..
TDG,
did you get the mail with the shipping address, and am I still on the list?
If I am, I shall set up a paypal account and transfer the money, but please do not send a PMD before you actually get the money, just in case it doesn't work.
Texas Diesel Guy 11-01-2004, 08:10 PM Lee, there you are, no I haven't recieved anything from you. But you are by all rights still on the list for a PMD. I mentioned earlier I have 3 more now, I'll test them and send you one of them.
Bumpin' Yota 11-02-2004, 06:55 PM i definately need another PMD so can you put me on the next batch too?Edited by: Bumpin' Yota
Texas Diesel Guy 11-02-2004, 07:05 PM Yota, your #11 on the waiting list, I'll do my best but don't hold your breath.

Ja, here I am :)
Hm, the mail is dated Mon, 11 Oct 2004 00:50:17 +0200. I've just forwarded it --- please let me know if it gets through this time. If it doesn't, I'll have to find another way to send you the address ...

quantum mechanic 11-05-2004, 11:04 AM Hey TDG,
Living in Canada will give you new perspective on Texas, If you're awake and paying attention. It's the nature of subjective reality.
Texas Diesel Guy 11-07-2004, 10:45 PM OK, here's where I think everyone stands now, please someone correct me if I missed anything... Here's who I have as people that I have promised a driver to:
Lee, Bowtie, QM, Wheatking, HamhockTX, Outriggers, Steiner43511, BobT and W_Huisman.
Wheatking and W_Huisman already have theirs, And I have recieved payment or made arrangements with Outriggers, Steiner and BobT.
Lee has promised to send Paypal, and Bowtie, QM and HamhockTX have promised to send a check, which I have not recieved any so please let me know if and when you sent it because I haven't recieved it.
Please if I have made any mistakes, someone let me know so I can make the correction, thanks!

It show you getting it let me know please
Casey
Texas Diesel Guy 11-16-2004, 05:58 PM OK, I have now recieved payment from everyone but HamhockTX, so if you still are interested, please contact me.
For those of you on the waiting list, as soon as I recieve feedback form everyone and know that theirs are all working I can sell the remaining 3 or 4 I have.
TDG, thank you very much!
I've sent word to Joe so he knows that there's something to arrive for me :) I don't know when he's going to send the PMD over to me, and it can take some time. I'll let you know when it arrives, but I think it's better not to wait for the feedback from me --- if the other ones work, it should be ok to sell the remaining ones. Otherwise, the others on the list might have to wait just too long.

Thanks TDG got the PMD today.
TDC, Got my extra driver in the mail yesterday. THANKS !:)
Question: what size allen wrench is needed to remove FSD from the cooler plate? I need to be sure i have one in the glovebox along with a 14mm open end wrench.
Texas Diesel Guy 11-24-2004, 07:55 PM Allen? Torx15 is what you need for the 4 mounting screws.
whats the 14mm for?
bowtie 11-24-2004, 08:21 PM TDG, Where can I get the pad to put under this PMD when mounting?
Texas Diesel Guy 11-24-2004, 08:24 PM should have asked me before I sent it ;)
don't you still have your old one?
bowtie 11-24-2004, 08:59 PM TDG You talking to me? I am trying to put together a complete setup before switching over, so my old one is still under my old PMD. I didn't know they were reuseable are or they? So I was trying to find the best place to get one so I have it when i need it.
Texas Diesel Guy 11-24-2004, 09:03 PM they're reuseable, so long as you don't tear it removing it. Best place, well, only place to get one is a fuel shop, 30598 PMD Pad. Don't know off hand what they list for, but I'll check for you tomorrow.
Texas Diesel Guy 11-28-2004, 06:26 PM Alright, I'm getting really good feedback so far from those who have one of my PMDs, so, seeing that I have 4 more now, I'll go ahead and send these to the next 4 on the list....and those persons are....
Bobt250, HowieE, Tahoe2dr and GregAbell
Please contact me and send your addresses if you are still interested!

Nope, your #5 now Yota ;)
SaguaroKid 11-29-2004, 03:14 AM I hate to ask, but what is a PMD. I feel humbley stupid, but for some reason I just feel like I need one. These acronyms always make my brain stem hurt.
quantum mechanic 11-29-2004, 09:44 AM You would if you had a 6.5L with a DS-4 IP.
CanadianRigger 11-29-2004, 10:36 AM PMD = Pump Mounted Driver or you could call it that stupid black box on the side of the IP that can't be gotten at without removing the intake...
Bumpin' Yota 11-29-2004, 03:58 PM PMD = Pump Mounted Driver or you could call it that stupid black box on the side of the IP that can't be gotten at without removing the intake...
dont forget to insert random explitives between the words 'stupid' and 'black box' when you are stranded on the side of the highway somewhere and its pouring rain....lol
Light sprinkling of other explitives throughout the quoted statement are also highly recommended! ):h
Just to let you know, my PMD has arrived :) Maybe I can shortly test it this weekend, but don't count on it. It's cold outside, and I've got too many things to do ...
nvmtnlion 12-15-2004, 10:11 PM I am interested, PM incoming. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

Bumpin' Yota 03-03-2005, 09:19 AM Do you have any left ? I can Paypal immeditely
You'd be at the tail end of the line bro.....so can I and everyone else mentioned previously....
I went from first 2 or 3 pages to last of this thread, I think I missed a few requests.....:D
Anyway, I meant after all before me are done and/or are "undecided", I would like one too if possible.
I didn't mean to step on somebody's feet.....I'll gladly wait in line.
Texas Diesel Guy 03-03-2005, 05:35 PM This thread has been pretty quiet, but I do have a couple more drivers now, but I need some help figuring this all out again...
Steiner, I know I owe you one first, I haven't forgotten, been to the post office twice now, lost your address, I though I had it in my wallet.
Someone else said they were sending me a check...I haven't gotten anything in the mail, and who ever you are, I haven't sent you anything either.
So, JBT4, ScottySanderson and SteveR. You are the next 3 on the waiting list, I know I tried to PM you guys before, please respond via PM or on this thread to let me know if you do still want a PMD or if you've since changed your minds, thanks!
MrTailLight 03-03-2005, 05:44 PM if there are any left, i can paypal right away, or send a money order. just let me know. it would be good to have a spare!
Texas Diesel Guy 03-03-2005, 05:49 PM Well Mr T, I hope your not in a big hurry ;) The list is long and slow, but if you want to wait thats no prob. You never know, some of these guys might have changed their minds.
MrTailLight 03-03-2005, 08:53 PM put it like this, i need more parts in the shop like i need another wife! i can wait, i am in no hurry at all, take your time!
94duallyman 03-03-2005, 10:16 PM well, TDG, I know the line is really, really long, but even if I have to wait 2 years, plz put me down somewhere, thanks TDG.
Larry.
steve-r 03-03-2005, 10:36 PM TDG, I'm definitely in. sent you a PM with details. THANKYOU!
DieselPro 03-03-2005, 10:43 PM The gm dealer sells new ones for $245 and some fuel injection shops will beat their price.
jac6695 03-03-2005, 11:01 PM Anyone know the GM part number?
quantum mechanic 04-24-2005, 09:55 AM Tex,
I carried that driver in my glove box for 6 months, then one day meet a '94 6.5er at the fuel pump and he told me the engine was giving classic stalling problems so I helped him to put it on his truck. Do you thnk you'll see anymore of those?
Texas Diesel Guy 04-24-2005, 11:49 AM I have a couple more right now, one is spoken for, I owe one to Adam Stein.
The other 2 I was going to hold on to incase someone got a 'dud' from me, but so far I'm hearing nothing but good reports! I don't even remember who the next 2 people were on the waiting list??
quantum mechanic 04-24-2005, 11:54 AM I got my collection of three that were stalling and retorqued the transistor nuts as gmctd suggests might help and wouldn't you now it every sigle nut (all 12) was finger tight. I'll try them out eventually :D
bowtie 04-24-2005, 01:48 PM MY question is could we send ones that we have, get, buy or ,find to TEX to have checked out for a small fee plus shipping ? Or is there somewhere else we can get this done that we trust?
Texas Diesel Guy 04-24-2005, 02:11 PM Best way to test them is on a vehicle, even better than a test stand. Remote mount PMD setup would be great for a PMD tester.
bowtie 04-24-2005, 03:21 PM Thanks TDG I'll get to work on my "test stand"
Texas Diesel Guy 05-08-2005, 01:01 PM OK, revisiting this old tired thread again, I have 6 more PMDs now.
2 are spoken for, one for CJK65, and one for Adam Steiner.
The other 4 have been tested and cleaned up, but I have no idea who is next on the list so please, if you are interested, contact me on this thread! thanks
quantum mechanic 05-08-2005, 01:23 PM Best way to test them is on a vehicle, even better than a test stand. Remote mount PMD setup would be great for a PMD tester.:exactly: It's worked for me.
dmitch 05-08-2005, 01:28 PM TDG, I wasn't on the list but if you have an extra I would take one. If so, let me know how to pay.

flanman5 05-27-2005, 12:20 AM TDG what are you charging for these extra PMD's cause i would be interested in them as well.
Texas Diesel Guy 05-27-2005, 06:39 PM I got a half dozen more now, $30 each, shipping included.
I think its fair that Canadian customers get to take advantage of the exchange rate since shipping is cheaper for me too. So its 30 CDN if your in Canada, 30 USD if your Stateside.
guybb3 05-27-2005, 07:27 PM I would like one if I replied in time TDG.
nvmtnlion 05-27-2005, 07:52 PM TDG I missed out on that last batch. Sign me up please.

You guys are all new orders right?
If your on this list and you've already recieved one, please say so, if you haven't but you still want one, this is the priority list I'll be going by.
Oh, and just as a reminder, I prefer PAYPAL, send to TexasDieselGuy@hotmail.com, checks are OK, PM for address.
I'm trying to make this as fair to everyone as possible, it should be obvious that I'm not trying to make money at this. If anyone feels there is a discrepency in the priority list, PLEASE let me know, I'm trying to keep track but I just don't have the time and I apologize! Thanks
DieselPro 05-28-2005, 01:41 PM Contact your local Stanadyne Fuel injection shop. Any shop worth a dam throws all old PMD's away. Tell'em you want a spare and they will probably give you a couple for free. If they are using them stay away from that shop like the plague.
Rebuilt DS pumps need all new electronics.
Texas Diesel Guy 05-28-2005, 01:45 PM I think I mentioned early on in this thread that the reason I have them is because we throw them away. We don't build pumps with superceded parts in them period.
steiner43511 05-28-2005, 03:03 PM yeah i just got mine the other day. thanks again TDG!
bowtie 05-28-2005, 03:07 PM Hey I got mine in the first batch and glad to have it. Hate to see good parts go to waste.
Thanks TDG
guybb3 05-28-2005, 03:33 PM Ya TDG, I'm a new order and thanks
cjk65 05-28-2005, 11:44 PM Got it TDG .... THANKS
Texas Diesel Guy 05-29-2005, 12:30 AM Any shop worth a dam throws all old PMD's away...
If they are using them stay away from that shop like the plague.
Once again, I've made if very clear what it is I have. Obviously, the guys I'm expecting will want one are not in a hurry to shell out 250 bucks for a brand new one, and I don't blame them. I've enjoyed the luxury of working in a couple fuel shops where good used parts are handed to me, I'm just trying to help out the next guy.
Turbine Doc 05-29-2005, 01:54 PM I've got to lock this thread down guys, take it to PM with TDG direct; last year I had to shut another thread down on someone offering IPs for sale at a profit; I was questioned why I let this thread stay active, as it was a sale item that should be put in classified section. I always felt that TDG's interest here was to help other out in a bind and not profit motivated per-sei.
Caveat on these PMDs has always use at own risk TDG has been very clear on that point, as DP points out and I tend to agree once these start showing sings of problems they should be tossed out. But if in a bind you could gamble on a used but good one, I ran mine for a year with one I kept bringing back from the dead, I just got tired of messing with it.
TDG since this is an ongoing offer and not just a dump of a few you had on hand at time of original post, please make same offer in classified section. I'm requesting this not because of something done wrong but to comply with same policy asked of all who post on the forum, so we don't have appearance of favoritism.
