Think this could be used to fab a "universal" intercooler 3" tube kit into something that would work? It says it will bend steel or aluminum. I've been thinking about getting one to help me do my I/C install, and also to fab up some 1 1/2 inch rock sliders and bumper hoops for my Jeep. I'm not real clear on why it won't just crush the pipe flat when it bends. But they cold-bend exhaust tubing, right? Appreciate any input.

I would guess that bender would kink thinner tubing like what you would want to use for the IC tubing. You need a bender used for EMT or thin-walled tubing. That one is for rigid or intermediate pipe.

Like said above it is meant for conduit and such, it will bend black iron pipe but the bends are not real pretty. You get what you pay for. I just borrow a freinds JD pipe bender which is meant for DOM tubing for roll cages and tube frames. They are a liitle more money but it wont break the bank either. I beleive he paid $750 for the bender and the die's are between $100-$200 depeding on size and shape.

tubing is measured od and pipe is measured id thats how you tell the two apart. that bender will not bend intercooler tubing it will kink it. That bender is made for pipe.

thanks. that's kind of what I thought for the I/C tubing.
