Do not know if I am in the right spot, but here goes. I just installed a boost and pyro. I now have a "whine" from 6-10lb of boost. Does not do it any other time.

I resealed the boost gauge fittings on the turbo and still it is there. ??????????????????????????????????????????

Autometer and I know what the turbo sounds like. This has just started. Like there is a vacuum leak................

Is the boost tube connection in the back of the gauge tight and sealed? Can you hear it better when the truck windows are up or down?

I will check tomorrow on the window up/down thing. It is mechanical.

Would that indicate if the connection to the gauge is bad?

Well we dont know. He recently left for Iraq so I havent done anything with it. He brought it bavk to the shop that installed his guages and they seem to think there's a leak in the line somewhere. There's a leak and thats obvious. Its a high pitched wheez to a whine sound only when you start to fuel it.

I think he started a thread about it. I'll see if I can find it.

i had a noise at first right after i instaled my boost gauge like a whining or a howling sound, and i could not find it, so i had my brother go inside the truck and rev it, so i could look and hear where the sound was coming from, it ended up coming from the boost tube conector, it was tight but still just lose enought to allow air to escape when it built up pressure.

My guage kinda rattles/makes a weird noise at anything over 22psi. Kinda weird. It's an Autometer Phantom.

Didn't think these trucks build boost in park or neutral.

Not enough to register on a gauge, but there is slight boost tube pressure even at idle. If there is even the tiniest leak, it can whistle.

I suspect that the ferrule fitting in the back of the gauge pierced the tube when it was tightened down and is causing this noise.

The LBZ with PPE programing anyway will build boost in park dry reving it. I have hit 12 PSI just reving it in park witch supprised the heck outa me and freaked me out to be honest.
