The new truck is on the road with a new twin set-up and a built tranny.

Thanks to Nathan for the late nights and trying to meet a dead line for me to race. We almost made it.

This new twin set-up feels very nice. Quick spool-up with the LBZ charger and plenty of big air with the large bottom charger.

With the extra fuel this LBZ pump supplies, this truck should run better than the last. Gets out of shape quickly with just a tow tune.:D

Thanks to JoshH for helping all day install the trans, co-pilot, and other goodies.

Thanks to MikeL. for the awesome support day and night. This tranny feels very nice, quick, and smooth.

Let the LBZ piston testing begin

Here are a couple pictures. Nathan had his work cut out for him because GM made the LBZ different in many small ways, .100 here and .100 there starts making for long days. He installed all the factory stuff including grid heater.

What are you running for a CP3 - stock, modded single or dual?

Looks good Rob.

Still testing the single stock LBZ pump. Right now seems very stout compared to the LLY. Should be good for a few tenths over the last pump. Nathan will mod the pump if needed. I think this setup with a single pump will get close to roll bar times at a sea level track.

This is a bigger charger than my last set-up

I'll have to jig the new intercooler pipe and get a few more parts made before it is ready for release. It'll probably be done around the end of the month.

Wasn't that cheap as I remember, cost you pulling two trannys and installing one.  Also I got a new stock TC out of the deal IIRC.:D You gonna get some gauges installed pretty soon? Nice to know what boost and drive pressure is.

Actually the fuel mileage goes up because of a more complete burn. On my last truck, I could get over 20mpg at 75mph with the A/c on in 100 degree temps with a race tune loaded. Problem is triing to keep your foot out of it:D

The MPI twins have been the best invention since the wheel and sliced bread. There is nothing humanly possible I can do to get my EGT to 1200 degrees even with bigger sticks I run.

Funny story, My father was getting a DVD player install in his 07 burban and because it wasn't done in time,(he lives about a hour away) I said to take my truck home and I'd switch with him in the morning. Well I tell ya the next morning the look on his face was priceless, mine you he grew up driving a 66' 427cid Vette Stingray,( which he still owns, and in the day cost more than a Caddy), was pure shock:eek: , the first words were WTF is done to that!(In a almost 2 years I've only told a few people that my truck is not stock) It works!, he said " I pulled out to pass a tractor trailer, and it scared the sh*t out of me, next this the needle is buried!" ( my speedo goes to 200kph, but it tops out at 192kpH, so it wasn't quite buried..lol) I said, well it will give your vette a run for the money:D , he just shook his head( I guess cause he's close to retirement, otherwise I think he want to race:D) .

Stock internals and stock studs. I ran this same combo on my LLY for two years of hard abuse without one problem. I kept the boost around 50 psi.

Bobo, I have gauges too(home made gauge pod though:p: )

Sounds like a great towing set up. Is that EGT at the exhaust manifold? Are you using the stock lly charger as the smaller? Congrats on the truck Rob, have you built the roll cage yet? :D

Rob is going to the track today and this weekend. I dont know that we will see any fast times because it's a NHRA Div. 6 opening weekend and that means bracket racing. Plus he had a few tranny related issues come up in the last week. He thinks he has it whipped but he wont know until he runs it on the track.

As far as the twins go everything is good. The week after next I am going to fine tune the intake plumbing and then I will be ready to roll with them. So provided the machine shop catches up then I'll be making LBZ kits before the end of the month.

You need EFI to controll the VVT top Turbo.

It's funny you ask today of all days :). I'm working on the finishing touches of the LBZ stuff right now (well actually I'm typing right now but you get my drift). I rerouted Rob's intercooler pipe and then I have to make a copy to build a jig and I'm good to go.

Idaho CTD

Sorry I forgot to add that the kit will work without EFI Live but for optimal performance you need it. Peak egt reduction is around 400 degrees without EFI Live and between 5 and 600 with it.
