Hey, I'm new to Diesel Place and to Duramax. I just bought a 2001 long bed extended cab Chevy 2500HD Duramax in Denver last week for $13K. It has 122 K miles on her, a programable chip (set on the middle setting I am told) and runs like a scalded ape. Whats amazing is I got 22 mpg coming home to New Mexico and that was climbing two mountain passes. I drove her easy, not over 65mph, and blows good black smoke when I step her down. Question- do any of you Duramax owners put a fuel additive to try and save the injectors or the pump. Sure appreciate any feed-back. Thanks, ho9styl

Which fuel additive do you reccomend. I have used Diesel Power (winter and summer brands) for at least the last 10 years of driving Diesel P/U's, but am not sure it is the best for the Duramax. thanks.

You question has been answered about 1000 times. Chances are all your answers are in there.

Most run Stanadyne or Power Services and get great results. I personally run stanadyne.
