Well rough day at the track. 2nd round of time trials. Brake stalling at the line. and I here this PSSSSt. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_bomb.gif I get spooked. light turns green I go. So bothered by the sound. that i forget to shift, bounce off the rev limiter. So coasting down the runoff. I can't turn. I put my back into it and wheel slowly turns, And since my brake's are boosted by the power steering pump, I have no power brakes. 4wd + plus front locker = no turning.
Got home and look into, little bit, seem to be no pressure in the lines. can squeeze the lines by hand.
Question, has anybody experience this, Or had dealing with a hydro boost style system. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_confused.gif http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_confused.gif
Looks like strong arm power steering for now
I am thinking I need a new power steering pump.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I would tend to think that you have pump problems since both are out. Either that or you have a system relieve valve the has failed in open position and not letting pressure build up.

Power steering pump shaft broken about 1.5 to 2 inches in. Note to all hydro-boost owners, be aware of this. Edited by: 8100hammer

Brake stalling the engine against the TC, to leave the line better and to lower 60'. My truck's brakes are boosted by the power steering pump hence hydro-boost system, from what I have been reading on other forums this is a common occurence, about the shaft breaking.

I am very familuar with it, I have hydro boost on my 2000 K3500. The only thing I do not like about it is that when it sit for a few days and rains, the moisture forms a rust "glaze" on brake surfaces and makes it the brake EXTREMELY easy to lock up with the hydroboost when the system is cold and you first drive off.
